No, the view is not great.

It's too flashy and in harder content the constant red circles are hard to keep track of in first.

Never. I dislike how limited the view in 1st person is.

Wow, First person perspective is in the minority, interesting. I do first person exclusively, for immersion. #rd person makes me dizzy for some reason. Using cat mounts (3rd person) are best for me, especially at high speeds (Major Gallop), most of the other mounts are too jerky and make me dizzy. Any way of reducing the jerkiness would be appreciated.

No. The game is clearly not meant to be played in this mode. You really need to see what is going on around you. I use the first person view only for taking screenshots.

I used to play exclusively in first person (or "hard mode" as I called it), but there comes a time when you realize that it really doesn't make sense for some of the harder content. Particularly, if your fighting style is up close and personal because then it can be very hard to see anything, let alone pools of red around your feet. If people tell you the game it too easy, ask if they play first person ;)

I'm not a total convert though, I never zoom out to the max and often fiddle with the zoom, going into first person when I feel that the situation requires it.
When you have to kill Faolchu by pulling him into flames, I couldn't see a thing and was forced back into a corner...completely trapped. All I could see was the wolf in front of me. I was on my MagDK at the time and only survived by spamming embers - barely scratching him, but he wasn't hurting me. It took ages before he died.

I suppose I could have let him kill me and reset the fight, but I wasn't going to let that happen, and the longer it went on the greater my investment...

    Yes. I prefer it.

For people wanting a challenge in PvE, play in first person in dungeons and such.

I only go first person for taking screenshots, though when we do a birthday trial for someone we tend to make them do things like play first person, turn their UI off, start naked and equip what you loot etc..

I do it when my back is against a wall and first person is a better option, or to see a better angle on certain things close-up.

Nope. I hate the bobbing and weaving you get in first person mode. I also don't like the lack of real peripheral vision you get from the computer screen. I might have a different opinion if I had a VR setup but until that time I will stay in 3rd person mode.

My main is a dual wield stam NB. In pve, she bounces all over the screen like an acrobat, driving the poor healers crazy. In pvp, she sneaks at high speeds and strikes from the shadows. (She can out-sneak some people's mounts!) All this movement doesn't lend itself to first person, though. Makes me dizzy, and I lose track of where her feet are, which is all-important if you want to move quickly. Plus, in third, you can see around corners without being seen, and identify and avoid dangerous AoE's much easier. In close quarters or open combat, third is a must for me. I only use first to zoom in on interesting game visuals.

Say no even if I do from time to time if I have the wall against my back.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I use it in all previous parts of the Elder Scrolls. But here it is impossible to use it, because of a completely different game mechanics. In the same Fallout 76, playing in the first person is natural and convenient. It doesn't work here.

You can turn the head bobbing off. I really have no idea why they have it on for default, it's just YUCK!

i would love to play it in first person more but many buffs bloat your screen and the players arms being so far behind the screen compared to most first person views in elder scrolls games looks so janky
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

Technically, I sometimes use 1st person but only when the environment messes with 3rd person, so it is out of a rare necessity. One is taking risks trying to PvP and even PvE well enough to avoid damage when using first person. It helps to see the ground where you stand to ensure you are not standing in what is popularly referred to in MMOs as stupid or red.

Every once in a while I will use First Person, because the NPC Facial Reactions are kind of cool during fights. But, 99.9% of the time, Third Person.

Now, every Single Player Elder Scrolls Game is done in First Person. Other than one fight in Skyrim, there is no reason to ever go to Third Person. Besides the Over the Shoulder view angle bugs me (I prefer to be centered over the head).
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I am not my character; rather, I travel with her as an ethereal spirit. Therefore it makes perfect sense to have the 'over her shoulder' third person view. Not to mention I find the game much better suited to third person.

I can't play in 1st person, it causes motion sickness to me within seconds. I can play 1st person mode only in games of type click & go.
