Our group of 12 Hurricane heralds couldn't beat VDSR HM (Xbox NA)

Yesterday big bad U35 dropped and our group went back in to continue our Swashbuckler prog. We're not blind or dumb, we saw the videos and logs from PC players so we had at least an idea of what to expect going into this patch. It was a lot worse than we expected. Our group was as follows:
X1 DK MT in Naz Turning Tide and Yoln,
X1 Warden OT in Sax and Powerful Assault.
X1 Nightblade healer in SPC and Pillager.
X1 Sorc Healer in ROJO.
X1 Zen Aklosh Dk.
X3 Nightblades in Siroria and Rele and Zaan with rele swapped off for whorl during trash.
X1 warden (me) in Azureblight and Siroria.
X1 EC necro
X1 necro in Rele and Siroria with TRele being swapped off for whorl during trash.
X1 templar in deadly and Siroria.
All dps were in dual wield and 2h backbar.

Lylanar and Turlassil
This was a hot mess. As soon as the atros spawned the decrease in cleave damage was noticeable from last patch. Same with the dogs. The damage going out was insane and healing incoming oftentimes didn't quite keep up. There were a lot of barriers. The Pillager healer joked that she might as well wear sax. On a couple occasions Hindered status wasn't outhealed in time. Last patch the assigned killers for swords and axes could do it flawlessly but last night they occasionally needed help. Not much more to say really. It was a VERY rough ride. 16 and change minutes up from the 7 or so last patch

Reef Guardian
We did the typical strat of burning the original guardian (the chongus) then killing him at the second spot before he could run again.Same gripes as above except the addition of lightning and poison made it more sus. It's a lot easier to die too. (well it is hardmode after all) I don't know if this was my mind overdosing on copium but I felt like the extra pen from warden helped when doing reef hearts. I'm not on PC so I can't confirm their armour values. It was still a slower kill than before. 13 minutes up from 6 ish we were doing last patch. Killed 11 hearts but I might be wrong about that. So don't take it as gospel. Up from the 8 hearts of last patch.

Sail Ripper
Uneventful.A simple burn. took 3ish minutes up from the 2 and a half we usually average. Only one bang/deathless pull of the night.

Bow Breaker
Not gonna lie we got our wigs snatched first two pulls. Poison kills. Who would have guessed lol. On the third pull we definitely didn't glitch him into the ground so he would stop moving and barriered like there was no tomorrow. Nope. cleared. Slightly over 2 minutes. More or less the same kill time. More leaning towards the more part. but very close.

Tideborn Taleria
I liked her better as a Maomer waifu. Things only go south after she transforms. So um yea maelstrom hurts and is treacherous. It was basically barrier or die. Maybe even still die. Sea behemoths had to be focused much earlier instead of just getting cleaved down. On more than one occasion we had two of them up at the same time. One cursed pull we had 3 after getting behind with deaths. The matrons needed a spammables instead of dying to dots. Bridges wiped us a few times. Even if everyone had stayed alive I don't think we had the burn to skip the 20% bridge. End result was humiliation up from the 7 ish minutes of last patch.

Overall it was not a fun time. Granted it was less than 24 hours in so people may see improvement (providing they don't uninstall ESO and) I'm not sure that Swashbuckler is within our capabilities anymore. I'm gonna swap off warden for a Templar or DK or something and see how that goes.

Sorry to hear that. Sucks to be progging and then to be slapped in the face without any fault on your side...

I regularly check esologs.com and did not find a succesfull clear of vDSR HM since U35 on PC. Of course there are too many for me to check but the samples I take show somewhat between 6-13+ wipes on Taleria HM and then some just go home and others change to Veteran and at least take that.

As many have said with the announcement of U35. That really is a great update. Yay /sarcasm off

So apparently there is a team of QA testers who do dungeons and trials with blue gear or something? I'd really like to watch a stream of them clearing vDSR hm in the current patch.

I wonder if anything should be made of the fact that such a team was not mentioned at all in the context of Update 35. Unlike, say, when CP 2.0 rolled out, and they assured us the testing team completed vet content without any CP at all.

I believe it. Majority of encounters are mechanic heavy and require little to no gear at all. I havent tried any naked dungeons but last night i was messing around farming dragons completely naked without even a weapon equipped using jabs and managed while half the people in gear around me were dead! If its the gear that makes you guud why were they dead? Its more likly the fact that i made sure to not be standing in red *** and block/avoid attacks!

With emphasis on "majority". But the stuff we're talking about here - new trial hardmodes - tends to have hard DPS checks, and hard healing checks as well. Meaning below a certain threshold of damage and healing, you simply cannot clear it, because you will get one-shot after a certain time.

oh absolutly in those your pushed right to the limit of what we are capable of! I mean just in general if you designed the encounter and know every detail of it its going to be easier which is likly why they run/test them in blue. If it can be done its likly tweaked to perfection.
