Recommend Restraint in Monetization Between Servers/Update 35

Think this is probably something that needs to be said, but recognizing Tales of Tribute is a card game, and the potential for it to be monetized is there (fortunately companions haven't been monetized, but card games are a different beast).

Doesn't take too long on the forums or Reddit to see the sentiment of the player base at the moment. I'm not trying to spread conspiracy theories, so I must reiterate there has been no indication of monetizing ToT beyond access through High Isle.

If there was any business person walking around over there at the studio seeing dollar signs in monetizing ToT, let's just...not.

I don't think they will make it pay to win. They seem to big taking it rather seriously surprisingly.

Apparently the update broke ranked leaderboard games and they went to a considerable effort over it- put out a tweet apologizing, suspended ranked games while it's broken, etc.

Not going to happen. The minigame is just too small to even bother trying to do anything like that to it. Have you seen the size of each deck?

I don't even think they will add to it in the future like they will still be adding to companions. They want to keep adding more game systems and as such they wont be able to afford the time/manpower to keep adding to ALL the current game systems.

I think TOT is exactly where it needs to be right now. Deck size wise that is, some cards need to be changed a bit but that's the norm.

They COULD sell us different visuals such as playing mat etc but that would be about as far as it goes imo.

I will actually die laughing if they try to make money off of ToT haha but I really would like to think even ZOS wouldn't go that low. The card game is already quite controversial among players with it being the new feature of High Isle that no one asked for and the fact that the last minute maintenance earlier this week was just to fix it, but not the many other bugs U35 introduced or brought back irritated a lot of players as well. With all the talk of ZOS only caring about their whales and not listening to it's players, making another part of the game monetized would just prove that point even more.... especially in the case of ToT.

You'd want to make it F2P before you tried monetizing it further to maximize your potential sales and make it worth the potential backlash.
