Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)
We are currently investigating connection issues some players are having on the European megaservers. We will update as new information becomes available.

Love the new balance changes. Now others can compete on the same level.

If you can do 100k dps, you are able to solo non-vet dungeons. Gain huge mats. It effects the economy. The bots do this. How are we casuals to compete?

Uh...I hate to break this to you, but a vast majority (myself included) of those 100k DPS players aren't soloing dungeons. That's tedious nonsense. Carries are fat bank. I can go make ~2.3m in 15 minutes doing a Cloudrest carry. Why would I solo a dungeon?

I give up. I cant even make 2.3 in a month. I have never been this broke in an MMO and the answer is "get gud". There is a deeper issue here. It's not skill. I have been in MMOs since 1994. I was top in every other MMO. In ESO I am begging for scraps.

I have been in MMOs since like '98. Seven and a half years in EQ, six and a half in WoW, pushed some world firsts there, several ventures into Guild Wars 1/2, bunch of other short-term MMO periods like New World. ESO is the most demanding MMO I have ever played. I spent countless hours on the dummy when I hit max level because I quickly realize my DPS was never going to get me anywhere. It takes time, effort, energy and commitment to be good at ESO from a mechanical perspective. Some folks are willing to do that, most aren't, and that's okay. Should players not be rewarded for that time/effort investment?

And let me also say, I sympathize deeply with anyone who has an injury or disability that makes ESO hard to play. Back in ~2013 I hurt my hand/wrist. Severe nerve damage. I have no feeling in my right hand at all really. It took me six months to re-learn to use a mouse. I went from a high plat/low diamond level LoL player to barely able to scratch gold. I know what it's like to have your body just limit the hell out of you.

But ESO, with enough time and effort (given you don't have a completely debilitating injury), it is possible to climb.

This exactly. I don't know how so I'm going to complain until they ruin someone else's gaming experience. You know how I make money? I go through overland and chest farm for sets that are in demand, no dps check for that. No need to git gud. Gather mats and refine, sell raw mats or refined tempers. Only requires time. Fish, perfect toe is 24k a pop right now stacks of white fish are good gold. Do daily zone quests and sell motifs. Only requires time. I'm not 100k+ I don't do carries and no I don't live on the game, I have a full time job and hobbies. I mean there are hundreds of YouTube videos on making gold in ESO.

And almost no one cares about soloing dungeons. It's an absolute waste of time unless you need the gear and can't find a team. I could solo every normal dungeon in game pretty much, why would I? I make more gold fishing for 20 mins.

    Love the new balance changes.

How do these changes affect you?
Because with your 15k-20k dps you wasn't able to complete vet content and with the current "accessibility" changes you are still as far away as before in regards of clearing vet content.

How many of those hours are spent parsing? Spent learning a rotation? Spent testing?

It should not this be hard for anyone. Anyone. I spent many hours on my builds. This is a game killing issue. No MMO should be so insanely hard that the average player with the best gear can not top out at the highest level. I have never had this issue, in 20 years of MMOs.

Define "best gear". Because that is a very, very grey topic. And honestly, good players can rock numbers with weird ass setups. I knew a Templar top parsing in some PVP jank set I'd never even heard of. Player skill is what truly pushes numbers in most cases. That and group comp/buff availability. If you're in an organized group and a talented player, you can push some really gross numbers in some pretty jank/trash gear.

Weird, I was an Ultima Online beta tester, and that released in late 1997. Unless you are talking about MUDs then I am honored to meet a time traveler

It is also pretty surprising you are doing 15-20k if you are truly trying, after gaming for 30 years or so. I mean youtube fix you right up, and way back in the Before Times we didn’t have all the advantages. Throw on a couple decent sets and youll double your dps. Get into a trading guild and sell your unused stuff, making money is pretty chill here.

I have 4 mages and 2 archers. All of them have suffered 25-30% dps loss. Prior to the update they ranged from 21-27k dps vs an easy WB or easy group dungeon boss. Now they range 15-20k. Who knew that 25k dps was 'elite' and needed to be nerfed? Last week I could solo a geyser. Today I gave up after dying twice.
PC NA(no Steam), PvE, mostly solo

I have no idea why anyone thinks that dungeons, vet or otherwise are a huge source of materials...

Now bots, they *are* a serious problem. Nerf the bots!

I'm a PvE soloist and have been playing ESO for 7 1/2 years, 10,000 hours playtime and 2050CP. I weave pretty well, run gold weapons, mostly gold gear and wear appropriate (not meta) gear sets. It took me a long long time to break 25k and is very frustrating to accept such a large dps hit. This update has reduced my 'accessibility' to content that I can manage. If limited as a soloist to public dungeons and delves, I'll be finding another more solo friendly game.

Intended? What, to reduce the fun of playing ESO? If so, mission accomplished.

I have 600k gold. I'm probably the poorest person in this thread and I run that content all the time. Trifectas, challengers, speed runs, who-care-why-runs, solo, it doesnt matter. A get rich quick scheme, they are not.

Yo have all that time and do 25k dps, while folks who are barely in do 100k dps?

I'm sorry, intended? We have been over this. "Intended" is based on created content. So if there is content that REQUIRES 100k dps then YES you are intended, at a point, to be able to solo it.

Your over here saying I've been playing mmos for 20years I'm gud in all of them! Did it ever occur to you that in those mmos that you are gud at there are folks that are struggling and can't figure out why you were better? Did it maybe occur to you that a lot of the player base for eso plays it because it's NOT like other mmos? And I don't just mean in combat either. You gotta work to get what you want be it furnishings, achievements, skins, crafting. And fyi there is no "best" armor. Having gold armor doesn't make it best. Best is what fits your class, play style and build. Having gold training trait gear won't make you any better then someone who has white training trait gear. There are sets I can think of that are spectacular but are for say a healer and are garbage for a dd.

Oh and to your I can't get gold: I did a jewelry writ yesterday. It took 45 seconds, I got chromium and a gold crafting writ that is worth over 500k.
