This is the official feedback thread for the Update 36 prologue quest, Sojourn of the Druid King. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • What alliance was your character?
  • How did you initially acquire the quest? (ie: was it through the Crown Store or from the NPC)
  • Did you have any trouble starting or completing the quest?
  • Did you play as a group or solo?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

the southern firesong camp you need to visit during the first quest does not work to enter the cave at the south, but the cave on the north by westtry works. the map inside the cave itself suffers from phasing issues when you get close to it, making it impossible to grab it. notice it phases into glenumbra moors, might be phasing if you do the quest there.

I can confirm that my friend that did not do the glenumbra moors quest was able to progress as normal. Tested it myself on a new character and was also able to able to progress normally. additionally, the southern cave was accessible to this new character, which was not on my completionist oriented character

I tried this quest with an existing EP character (not a new character or a template character) who had completed all of the previous base game Glenumbra quests years ago. I, too, am experiencing the phasing issue with the (first?) quest objective inside the cave in Glenumbra where I am asked to search the Firesong Camp. The enemy NPCs and quest objective are visible from a distance but once approached, they phase out and I cannot complete the quest. I was able to kill the NPCs via ranged attacks; but the quest objective on the ground disappears or phases out once I am near it. I cannot interact with the objective and thus I cannot continue the quest. I will not be trying on a different character that has not completed the base game Glenumbra quests as mentioned above. Not sure it is worth my time to try this quest again after next week's patch if ZOS cannot release a functioning quest on the first go round.

I also had some missing voiceover on the first screen of dialogue by the NPC when I picked up the quest in Davon's Watch. I backed out and tried again which allowed the voiceover to play correctly. I'm not sure if this was some weird one-time event or if there is some larger issue here.

I too had the same issues. The mobs inside this cave also 'phased' when I neared them, but if I stayed back I was able to shoot spells at them.
As for the scroll, I could not grab it; it kept disappearing. I cannot progress.
This is on my regular main character and she has done the Quests in Glenumbra.

    Crown Store

    No

Do you have any other general feedback?

Personally, I'm not really interested in Druids/Wyrd and the story never really moved me in the direction of caring. Not all content is for everyone though so..

I am very disappointed with how the writing of the prologue (and therefore the Q4 DLC) focuses on druidism rather than mainstream Bretons this year. As a fan of Bretons, I was hopeful when Rich Lambert promised that he would help make the Bretons more interesting, but instead, the writers have boiled Bretons down to a), the boring generic medieval fantasy that most players associate with Bretons and loathe them for, and b), off-brand Reachmen who have about as much in common with mainstream Bretons as Nords and Imperials do. There is no lore this year that gives the Bretons' classism any depth, nor is there any lore this year that justifies the Bretons' canon descriptions as intelligent and inventive, such as the Rights Charter, or Bretons who have made meaningful inventions.

I have more comprehensive feedback and suggestions written here, but with the way things are looking right now, I can confidently say that Bretons will remain the most boring and butchered race in the eyes of the community. If Q4 delivers nothing that helps improve mainstream Bretons to reflect their canon descriptions, I intend to cancel my ESO+ subscription and ignore future chapters.

Former completionist with all achievements unlocked up until Update 29 (Flames of Ambition). Avid RPer, writer, and former Breton lover. Then Legacy of the Bretons was released and I realized just how boring and uninspired the Bretons are according to the writers.

    DC

How did you initially acquire the quest? (ie: was it through the Crown Store or from the NPC)
Crown Store. Is there a quest giver? I couldn't find one.

Did you have any trouble starting or completing the quest?
Starting no, completing yes. I also had that phasing issue where I couldnt reach the quest marker as it disappears when you get close.

Did you play as a group or solo?
Solo. Always solo for this type of content.

Do you have any other general feedback?
I didnt get very far in the quest due to the bug so nothing right now. If the issue gets fixed and prologue isnt removed on Week 2 of PTS I will try again.

Honestly, prologue quests should start being put only in the alliance starter zone that is closest to where the prologue quest is intended to take place. Cities are starting to get very cluttered with prologue quests.

The Glenmoril Wyrd should use different motifs than the usual Barbaric style they were given. Glenmoril Witch Robes exists as a costume, and Glenmoril Wyrd Style is another option. This is best to distinguish them from the Beldama Coven.

not sure if this is the correct location, but its the closest i found.

following books are still bugged on PTS from the chapter: either in the first place or post quest missing:
    • Adwig's Journal
    • Kiv's Notes
    • Letter from Vetitia Marcott
    • Note to Cynric
    • Ode to the Nose of a Woman
  • Karminathevamp

I was finally able to finish the prologue on my EU baby character since my main character on NA was unable to finish the prologue due to bugs and phasing in a Glenumbra cave. I hope they fix the quest in time for release.

I wonder where we are going with this druid story. No news from the Ascendant Lord missing in action. Strange prologue.
