PTS Update 35 - Bug Reports for Item Sets

Nocturnal's Ploy - Medium

5 – When you apply a Major Debuff to an enemy, remove a Major Buff with a duration from the target. When you apply a Minor Debuff to an enemy, remove a Minor Buff with a duration from the target. These effects can both occur once every 2 seconds.

Nocturnal's Ploy is a new rewards for the worthy set being introduced. This set is extremely problematic in PVP and should not be allowed to enter the game.

There is no counterplay to having your buffs removed at will by enemy players, especially certain buffs like those received from potions, which can only be re-obtained once every 40 seconds. This set has two separate cooldowns of only two seconds each on the ability to remove major and minor buffs - imagine trying to maintain your buffs when someone can spam a utility ability on you, such as elemental susceptibility, and remove them every two seconds.

This set completely removes the rewards players get for good buff management, and completely breaks the usage of things like spell power pots and tri pots in PVP.

I highly recommend this set is scrapped and replaced, or removed entirely. This is not something that belongs in any version of ESO's PVP, and if allowed to enter the game it is going to severely deteriorate the PVP experience.

This person beat me to it, but Nocturnal's Ploy is a bad idea. Consider a debuff skill like Elemental Drain. It is free and ranged, so you can apply this to an enemy over and over. Would this just take off the enemy's buffs free of cost? If minor magickasteal counts as a minor debuff to the target, this set would be even more broken if paired with Elemental Drain. Will debuffs from status effects count towards this set? There is no reason to have something like this in the game, there are way too many ways that this can be broken and it will be heavily RNG based.

Cruel Flurry, MA duel wield set does not seem to be working at all. I tried it with base Flurry and its morphs. It did not affect Rending Strikes nor Crippling Grasp.

I wonder if this is because Flurry was changed and the set did not proc off the cast, but rather the final hit which was removed from Flurry.

I did submit an ingame bug report, BTW

Sea-Serpent’s Coil — Redguard and Warden passives do not reduce the snare from this set.

Azureblight reaper set does not respond to dots and will at times loose stacks even while some skill ticks like twin blade bleeds and morphs.

Oakensoul's Empower appears to not return if a player dies and revives until they re-equip the item.

Mara's Balm has been discussed elsewhere bit I'm putting it in here on the slight off chance someone is actually paying attention to it (lol).

Mara's Balm is vastly overperforming on PTS. Not only does the heal have no cooldown, but the set also seems to proc on reapplication, not just expiration - hopefully this is unintentional. Abilities like jabs now heal the target, as every tick of damage reapplies a snare and thus procs the heal effect. From testing, a player can heal for over 10k in under 0.01 second. This will make anyone wearing the set extremely difficult to kill.

This needs to be changed before live, not in 3 months time.

The Flame Pulsar skill is currently NOT activating the Elemental Catalyst set when you hit multiple targets.

It will put the debuff on only one enemy per cast of the skill, even when you hit more than one.

The Shock and Frost Pulsar morphs both work correctly so it is unique to the Flame Pulsar skill.

The additional damage from the vMA staff in 8.1.4 is not holding up through a barswap. This renders the item nearly pointless.
