After rendering its Colossus useless recently by giving its debuff to a set, now Empowering grasp is also dead by rendering Empower utterly useless in PVE. This means the necro healer has nothing to give to its group anymore.
“Empower: This buff now increases your damage against monsters with Heavy Attacks by 80%, rather than your damage done with Light and Heavy Attacks by 1800 from PTS v8.1.0 or 40% from the live servers.”
This doesn’t improve diversity at all since the only “main healer classes” are now warden and templar, instead of buffing the 3 other classes.

✭Were all going to have to be healbots now anyway to combat the nerfs to heals and 2 second procs.
It'll probably be a warden group heal and a sorc buff now since sorc class just got gutted so they'll probably be underperforming as DDs.2 -
Horny_Poney✭✭✭I’m not really familiar with the sorc heal but it lacks proper healing skills imho, so I believe it will be templar + warden instead, as it was before the necro came in.
For the 2 seconds proc, it’s only for the “sticky” heals, not the “ground” heals, so I don’t think it will change anything: radial regen is already 2 secs proc.0 -

✭In all honesty a necro healer was useless anyway. Necro dps is in such a good spot that almost any utility would be covered by one of the many Stamcrocs in group. The healer in any serious group is one of the weaker classes.1 -

You still often want a necro support in optimised trials on live right now for empower. No stamcro is going to cast the zero-damage empowering grasp twice to give the buff to all DDs every 5 or 6 seconds (I forget the exact duration without looking it up, but it's very short, and you must cast it twice to hit the full group). It's a rare example of the buff a class gives not just being a case of "have one person of the class on any role in the group and done".
Since all the fun seems to be getting sucked out of playing my main DD, I was planning to focus more on my necro healer since it's a fun playstyle with some challenge to it, and despite loving the challenge of keeping up empower for a full group, I felt the change to 10 seconds duration on that skill was one of the few good changes on PTS.
Now it seems it's gone and my groups will have zero use for a necro healer.Edited by Ezhh on August 1, 2022 8:34PM4 -

It is less useful since we have the set that gives the Colossus’s debuff, but not useless thanks to Empowering Grasp. Although, EG can be applied by a necro tank currently, but certainly not by a dd.

EldritchSun✭✭✭Necro tank is pretty much dead (no punch intended) too. Turning tide and the new monster set will provide 100% major vulnerability uptime, so colossus is useless on support necros, empower is dead, AoE breach and minor vulnerability and protection have their sources available to everyone, so they're not unique. Only the Reanimation ultimate remains, untill the devs introduce another balance-breaking set - class killer.3

There is not far a post where sorcerers whine that they were nerfed. hahahaah Necromancers are heading towards a brighter future. Dark conversion nerfed, spirit nerfed all class features nerfed. Soon there will be no more necromancers...0 -

Sockermannen✭✭✭what exactly does necro healers offer the group nowdays that isnt provided by other classes setups? minor protection via totem? a situational res ult that costs a ton use? major vuln that a diciplined tank can now almost keep 100% uptime on via sets?
empower was the one really strong thing left that necros could offer a team and it’s now gone

Horny_Poney✭✭✭Well, my trial group just died, too many people are leaving, even our raid lead announced stopping trials yesterday. So I guess that solves the issue for me.
To be fair that’s not related to U35 specifically (we’re on PlayStation, we don’t have U35 yet): some people have less time for TESO, some are quitting because they don’t like the way TESO is going, some others just lost interest in TESO.0
