Screen flickering started today

Hasn't done it previously, isn't doing it in any other screen, just ESO. Checked internet connections (I have two) and it's doing it on both of them.

Whether you are using nvidia or amd, did you change any graphics settings recently?

You may want to set your graphics settings (or you nvidia/amd control panel) back to defaults in case one of those settings is causing this. I know some games freak out if you force things like Transparency Anti Aliasing and it may just be a conflict with that setting.

Not changed a single setting between graphics working absolutely fine and screen flickering. Everything is as it was - except 3 day ea began.

Do you have Radeon 78XX series? I had a similar problem, I think I narrowed it down to having something to do with the second monitor output socket. I removed the DVI cable from the graphics card and just left the HDMI cable and so far I think it has stopped the flicker.

I have a a EVGA GTX 780ti Dual ACX Classified and intel i7 4770k on ASUS MAXIMUS GENE Z87. I have had this issue as well and it started since the early access period began for me. I didn't have this issue before on the last beta weekend. I have also reverted back to Windows 7 x64 and did another (Clean) install of Win8.1 x64 with the same issue. It is really annoying because NO other game does this except ESO. I have tried previous releases of NVidia drivers and a complete re-download of ESO. People.. it is obviously the game that is doing this and not your GPUs. It seems that that this issue is now a known issue and the Devs need to work on a fix. Peace

I've had another look at this. When it flickers, it's flashes of my internet browser (open in the background) that flash up. I'm playing in fullscreen mode, so could it be a problem with the fullscreen option? Maybe the way the fullscreen has been implemented is causing the flicker?

This is probably it. The game does not have an exclusive full screen mode and issues like this are bound to happen.

I get screen-tearing in this mode myself and cannot wait until a proper exclusive full screen option is put into the game... which is promised.

Why it isn't there from the start is mind-boggling.
Let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll...
Everything I say is just my opinion. Like it or not - that's all it is.

I was getting the same weird screen flicker. If you guys have vsync on - TURN IT OFF. Found out that vsync was causing this problem, for me atleast. It would randomly bring up background applications (mozilla, raidcall, the desktop) for a split second for whatever reason. So if you have vsync turned on, turn it off and see if that helps.

I was having this issue too with a radeon card. I went to AMD Catalyst center. Go to DVI Settings and select Reduce DVI Frequency on high resolution displays.

It limits your FPS to 60 to prevent tearing and whatnot. This fixed it for me for a little while, but it recently started up again so now I have no idea what's causing it lol. Doesn't matter if I play in fullscreen, windowed, or maximized. I'm gonna try and disable my addons and see if it's an addon that's doing it (potentially wykkds framework).

Vsync only works in true Fullscreen mode on the PC client so does not currently work on the PC. I don't think there is a way to get Vsync until they enable it.

On the Mac it has true Fullscreen and it works though it is rather restrictive as it is double buffering and will cap your FPS to the refresh rate of the display. So for a 60Hz screen it will be 30 > 15 etc. Really only want to use it if you get consistent 60FPS+ because of this. And it uses up more memory.

Vsync is used generally for screen 'tearing' where the frame rate is not the same as the display refresh rate, like moving the camera fast. As your screen is flickering it may be something different and not helped by Vsync.

Whether it is the game or not, neither Nvidia or AMD have released any real drivers for ESO. They will probably be released soon. I also have a 780 Ti SC ACX version though and I haven't had any grave issues with it, except that my fps seems to be incredibly low, around 50-70 which is almost embarrassing for a 780 ti
