How the hell do you get through the gates at Fort Virak?

I've been up to the gates (which have a LMB to open symbol) but it says they are locked. Asked in chat and somebody said its a quest BUT... there are no quest givers anywhere I can find?

I think you can go around to the back if I recall correctly.

Isnt there a bloody great bridge around the back (and isn't that side actually The Rift?)

if you're following the normal leveling path, you should never be going from stonefalls straight into the rift... The rift is a lvl 37-44 zone... First go to Deshaan (south of Stonefalls).

Why never??? When I was in level 20's I was itching to see Skyrim environs so I just went around to the back and was able to get to Riften.. Elder Scrolls is all about exploration. As long as you stay on the main road you can go all the way North to Windhelm in Eastmarch without a problem.

Also, some people may have a crafting alt that needs to get to a higher level zone for the crafting stations out in the wilds.

That's why I said IF you follow the normal levelling path

from the OP it sounded as he was doing that, but thought he had to go to the rift...

Yes thanks got it. Going around the back works, just needed a bit of finding.
And my bad to you guys, should also have said I'm a VR player so Ebonheart isn't my native alliance.
