I imagine they don't want people to stock pledges on their alts and do a dozen a day.

You've still gotta do the dungeon, and on hardmode for extra keys. With all the monster shoulders out nowadays is this really the end of the world? I do pledges maybe once a month when I can be bothered to do them at all.

I would expect more coding would be needed before Zenimax would make pledges sharable. It’s open to exploiting if we can share them with players who already have them and if we could share them on days that the given pledge is not the active pledge for that day.

The First part is already in the game but since we can hold onto a pledge it’s open to exploiting pledges for easier dungeons by sharing the same one every day.

Since this is not a big issue the priority would be low.

I'd rather they just get rid of pledges and roll / rework all the rewards into the dungeon finder (they do need to better group similar time/difficulty dungeons together though as it is absurd something that can be done solo in <10 minutes by everyone has the same reward as something that takes most players in a group >30 minutes).

I guess they could sidestep that by adding a timer to the shared quest no?

    edit for clarification:
You can only share the currently active pledges and they will disappear the next day.

Yeah, makes running randoms such a hassle, because you have to pick up the pledges for that day just in case you roll into one of those dungeons. And then drop all of the quests the next day. It's just awful design.

Sooner or later, undauned rewards/pledges are certainly up for another rework. We already have more DLC than base game dungeons, yet 2 pledges for base game and only 1 for DLC. I'll be going insane if I have to run Selene's Web another time.

Only vet dlcs sharable. Hard enough to find vet dlc groups as it is for the average player

    Or eso+ bonus ability, idk

why can't they just put a timer on it. like the research, and have it expire when the pledges reset?

Essentially that is what I noted in my post. THey could set it up so at the daily reset time, all pledges still in a player's journal are removed.

However, that creates another issue where sometimes people will pick up pledges when it is a dungeon they like, and any characters they did not finish it on they will do it on a different day.

So a solution for one player creates a new problem for another. Considering not being able to share is not really an issue we can stay with the current design.

They could just make the quest giver NPCs optional and use a menu to access the daily pledges, similar to how they handle prologue and event starter quests in the crown store.

I used to play this other game where picking up dailies functioned in a similar way, and even had automatic quest completion once you finished the final main objective. (Although I wouldn't want to bring in automatic completion because that made it difficult to finish the optional objectives first.)

I’m guessing there would have to also be some check to ensure the player you share the pledge with has signed the Undaunted tome at the Enclave. Some players may not have done that step. Some might not be high enough level to do pledges as well. Little details like that.

perhaps we could have some quest giver house guests then? - i think we should have writ boards in houses, just as a side note. lol

so if there is no timer, then nothing changes. you either have the quest and can share with someone that a) doesn't already have a pledge, and b) hasn't already completed a pledge today (like other dailies) and boom - sharing is possible with no other changes?

essentially, it just comes down to I personally not having to go and pick it up. particularly if i had to switch toon becuase the group wasn't working.

It is silly but also their own fault ever since they decided to set the content cadence / monetization so that several of the quarterly updates are basically a pair of paid dungeon DLCs.

At some point, they should consider rolling the dungeons into whatever chapter they are associated with, and roll the whole bit back into the base game.

But who knows, even though they were acquired by MS, it doesn't appear their nickel and dime monetization strategy has changed much.

Another anachronism that should just go away - they need to seriously update the base game guild lines with better instructions for new players or just have them unlocked at the start.

Having to explain to someone that has been running daily dungeons for some time that they should have gone inside an inn in a starter town to listen to the silly song to unlock the Undaunted skill line is just dumb.

Doubly so given all the chapter zones now and the fact the starter intro quest is god awful at providing any sense of direction on where to go as a new player.

I think that is just for the delve daily at low level, don’t you get the Undaunted Enclave invitation in your mail at level 45 regardless?

But I agree that it unless a new player stumbles upon the guys at the inn they don’t even know they can start leveling up that skill line much earlier than when they can run pledges.

Pledges start at 45 with the invite, but I still think it requires having done that intro quest in the pub - it certainly requires doing it to unlock the skill line, so a player hitting 10 can unlock the dungeon finder and start running the daily random or knocking out dungeon quests and not gain any undaunted.

It's similar with mages / fighters - players can easily do stuff like pick up a bunch of lore books or kill daedra and undead and gain nothing as the skill line only unlocks once they stumble upon and do the intro quest.

How that would be different from what we have now? You can ran easy fast dungeons on as many alts as you want and ignore pledges on days with longer ones. It’s already a common thing when CoA2 and BC2 dailies fewer groups are formed and queues take longer, at least from my experience.

Just block pledges that aren't on today from being shareable, problem solved.
