Questions About ESO's Future

Not an essay this time, but stuff that I think the community and developers need to have a shared understanding of so that the goal of the next years worth of changes is clear.

1. What percentage of people that attempt the newest hardmode trial should clear it within the first patch of it releasing?
2. What is the target difficulty standard for trial trifecta achievements? Mathematically possible? Or something easier than that?
3. Do you want mechanics to be skippable by the strongest groups in the game?
4. The maximum APM rate for optimal play (not including bashes they barely do anything) is about 120-130, including skill casts, light attacks and synergy casts. Maybe a little bit higher when including mechanics and position adjustments. Is this actually too high of a requirement for most people to succeed?
5. Is the goal of class balancing to have all classes (and all resource types) be viable in all cases?

The last time ZOS stated their goal for class balance back in 2019 (and not much has changed) they said, "To be clear, our goal is for every class to be viable, not necessarily optimal, in any role without heavily relying on non-class skill lines." (Formatting theirs)

They've by and large managed to hit "viable, not necessarily optimal," with a major caveat. Players who follow the Meta in PVE and PVP generally only care about the optimal classes, and so ZOS is continually adjusting class balance to shake up that meta and make different classes optimal. It's particularly noticeable in the Damage Dealer role in PVE, while PVP tends to see brief surges where lots of players switch to Sorc or MagDK depending on what class was boosted that patch. A lot of meta-following players tend to treat "non-optimal" as "non-viable" and that's not really true in most content.

There are more good details about how ZOS thinks about and approaches class balance in the article: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/57025

While I don't think much has changed in ZOS' goals, it's worth noting that the article is from 2019. If the reaction to this Update prompts ZOS to revisit their goals for combat balance, it would be nice to hear if these stated goals are still in line with the Devs' current vision.
