It's completely fine to sit out the Mayhem events. There are enough spare tickets acrosss the other events to get the main ticket rewards without needing to participate. I never played it and have all the mounts/skins/houses/pets that were awarded so far.

If I want to just jump in real quick and grab the tickets I can. The only Alliance that might have a bit of trouble or requires some level of risk in my opinion is AD players. As they dont exactly have a town thats uncapturable to go to for repeatable PvE content that Im aware of (granted I dont really like playing on AD side). But if youre EP or DC you have a town nearby a home keep that you can easily access and do quick quests for. Granted DC side usually has you hiking a good bit across the map in DC territory to finish. But I jump in, run to Cheydinhal and Im usually in and out in less than 10 minutes. Rarely do I see players from other factions and when I do they are often just there for the quests themselves. I do this often on the more populated servers too.
Im not saying youll never see PvP doing this. But if I can do this every six months and have a pretty quiet experience the majority of the time there. Then I know its repeatable for others.

Wow, 2 pvp events a year. You know, pvp players are forces to do pve, but not vice versa?
No sympathies, not what so ever
You understand there is no comparison between PVP and PVE events. People aren't farmed by other people while completing a delve daily for tickets. It's disingenuous to suggest there's anything comparable between these two event types or that PVPers are in any way disenfranchised during PVE type events like PVEers are during PVP type events. So maybe that should be acknowledged.
And if course, there aren't toxic PVEers who vote to kick PVPers in dungeons because they are too slow or can't sustain on a boss or don't know the mechanics of the dungeon. If you ask PVPers to adjust their builds for dungeon events and learn mechanics, then maybe PVEers could do the same for the 2 PVP events.

Once again, you are not facing more challenges in pve events than you do in pvp, unlike pveers who have to face veteran players potentially ruining their chances of getting tickets.

Depends
When I started in January, my level 11 Sorcerer ventured out to Cyrodiil -- and not knowing better, I went in the general location. And there was a guy, I remember distinctly that he was CP 1243, as at first, I thought it was his level.
He was picking off lower level people right outside the castle, and then teabagging them......
Now, honestly, I chalk it up to his issue with a short tail, as our Khajiit friends would say..... but it would be beyond annoying for people not used to games that included PvP --- seriously, paying a subscription to look at recap screens is not something a lot of people would be into.
Now, I have played Mortal Online, which is PvP right from the get go, no factions, and just everyone in a mix .... and the new player experience is terrible, and that is a major reason people quit. They get tired of creating a character, spawning in the start position, and faceplanting because some other player was waiting for new meat.
I got tired, there, as it was low population, and a majority were there just for the opportunity to murder fellow players .....even if they got nothing for it.
And that's the thing ... most PvP'ers are looking for a challenge beyond the pre-programmed creatures in the game ... some are lamenting their insecurities over their "short tails", and taking it out on, what is essentially, defenseless opposition.
So, why don't a few of your better players occasionally watch out for your short tailed friends, and deal with them, so that PvE people can get enough confidence to come out and join the community......

You went to a keep and got PvP'd. I'm not sure what else you were expecting.

I honestly hate pvp but, when this event comes around I jump in and get what I need done. Yes I die ALOT but, I also have a lot of fun during it. Pvers just do it or sit it out.

This one is a cat, riding a dinosaur being followed by a compact sized terror bird.
And it's the Wolf Lady with the bad narrative.

agreed as a pver quests are easily doable even in peak hours.
Use invisibility potions if ya don't want to worry about being ganked.
Also Cyrodiil and imperial city are pvx zones. Pve dps is welcome.
