Your Favorite Tank Class!!

In every MMO I play I always play as a tank and I have played tanked in pretty much every dungeon i play here in ESO. I usually play a my Nord DK or my Nord Warden for tanking. I have never tried tanking on the other class, at least not seriously.

I'd like to ask everyone which class is your FAVORITE to tank with? And why is that class your favorite?

So far I love tanking as a Warden. Having all the healing for allies and the Buffs are really nice!

Nord Warden. My Main.

As to why... the subject of tanking aside, it's just my favorite race/class combination, in general.
Though I do have Wardens of most of the other races as well.
But my main is my only tank, so far.

Y'all sleep on sorc tank. It is a personal favorite of mine, not to mention if you are an imperial sorc tank, in combination of class and racial passives your war horn is a flat 200 ultimate!

I'm trying to give Stam Sorc another try for soloing and as my main. I like classes rhat can effectively stay alive and kill easy as well tank. How would you rank Sorc Tank?

I don't tank anymore, there are some fun things to tank with, like AoE taunts using vateshran sword and shield to pull all enemies and then do explosive charge while wearing tormentor and then recover all your health using resilient yokeda, unfortunately in order to enjoy the rest of the game, you should be striving for DPS, considering all cool tank skills have been reworked for DPS instead (I'll always bring up power slam), or some places will punish you for having low DPS as a tank (vateshran ring of ghosts dps check)

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING will compare to old school sap tank for me.

When siphoning strikes had a 10% chance (I think) to restore mag and stam on any skill. It was the clear morph to take as leeching was a double bar skill for some reason.

Yes, it was super OP, but it was fun.

Pulling 30k DPS and tanking without a healer. No extra heals needed. Swallow soul healing two people and dealing good damage, all while being like 1k magica.

Path healed and did damage too.

Fondly remember doing vet city of ash with randoms, they all died and there were no platforms left, and I soloed valkyn skoria in the lava from like 40%.

Good times.

I try to create a build like it from time to time which has decent success. But it's mostly crutching on certain sets and has never been the same.

for 5 key runs. Templar with tormentor by far.

Trash pack breeze. Charge and aoe taunt to start. filll stamina bar with repentence once they are dead..

Sorc tank for dungeons. Can self sustain and self heal really well and with the right sets can also aoe pull and aoe imoblize stuff.

Nightblades. It's such an underdog for tanking but man they can take a beating, easy access to major/minor resolve and major evasion. And lotus fan is an amazing tank skill. Provides an AOE debuff but also very useful for making sure you are first to the pull with those tiny tank heavy armor legs. Great for fights like Zmaja where the boss teleports around a lot.

I still enjoy Necro Tank the most, DK I just find dull after Necro. Yeah, it is not as easy to play, but it is more fun, Especially ulti tanks for achievement runs.

Templar Tank is by far the easiest and most fun.

Having four templars in a group is truly an amazing dungeon experience

Depends on how you want me to rank it. Clannfear's heal is stupid powerful, arguably one of the most powerful single target heals in the game but if you are not comfortable tanking or know when to time dark deal (cause it drops your block) then it will be a little difficult to tank with. Honestly I rate it 7/10 due to the fact that you are going to need good luck getting into trial groups since they rather have a DK or necro tank.

I have nearly all classes as tank, still working on a sorc one but at the moment my favorite would be my female imperial vampire necrotank, survivability combined with butt kicking. Templar tanks are fun too also very survivable with the spear. I'm not one to just stab and block either, too boring, a good tank should know the mechanics.

Under pet peeves, I would put Leroys (Jenkins) the people who like to run ahead and aggro everything because they're in a rush and can't be bothered working with the group, they make any tank's job harder. I put them in the same class as the ones who stand in AoEs and blame the healer for their deaths.

Warden Tank is the most comfortable for me. I can run a non vet hm dlc dungeon in green gear and still feel good with its self sustaining kit.

I don't have a favorite class but I do have two tank characters that I love: a Templar tank and a Nightblade tank.

I’ve played Imperial Templar and Nord DK. DK is so hard to beat. It’s perfectly made for tanking. Race isn’t as important, more of a different taste thing.

I see, I've tanked a lot of VET HM dungeons before with my Norden but I wanted to try out Stam Sorc or Stamblade for while and was kinda curious to know how well those classes tanked. Thank you!

It feels like a cheat to say Nord DK, and most other people here seem to agree, but the 2 seem to go together like cheese and crackers. In fact, I've made 7 Dragon knights, and 6 of them have been Nords. They just synergise so well. The bonuses to health and stamina are invaluable to all tanks, not to mention the resistances to physical and spell damage. It's like they were specifically made for Tanking.

I’ve tried DK, ice/ice warden, and I have a baby necro but sorc tank is by far my favorite. The built-in expedition is great to get to enemies first plus it deals some damage. I also use TT right now which synergizes very well visually for me. Dark deal does drop block but as a newer tank I actually find it really helpful as it’s forcing me to learn cues for when I actually need to block rather than just holding it all the time. Negate can be really useful sometimes too, like for deleting some aoes or getting a res with the healer down.

Currently my favorites are necro and nightblade. Unfortunately, it's looking like NB tank is about to get nerfed into nonexistence, so if that goes live I'll just be sticking with necro.

I started on dk then moved to nb and for a short time on necro before i quit tanking for good, I can still help others out when the need arises but theres zero fun in tanking anymore.Dk is fav overall.
