Abandoned quest, now stuck - Now solved lol

Long story short, I abandoned "the staff of magnus" quest given by Queen Ayrenn.
Now, from memory, this quest is given after defeating someone (trying to not give away spoilers) in the orrey of elden root.
I can't get back into the Orrey to pickup the quest again.
Where do I find The queen or how do I go about picking up this quest?!

Okay so I've found her residing in "queen's residence" in Marbruk but talking to her does not give me the option to pickup the quest..0 -
