Eh, seems unnecessary but you can certainly try. That kind of truce thing usually only happens spontaneously in the towns of Cyrodill at times but it's exceedingly rare in IC where the entire environment is designed to funnel everyone into the same pit. There's also a lot more gankers there for the tel var. I'd imagine some will pose as innocent questers after seeing this post too.

It's probably easier to just get yourself a set of Night's Silence (2- trait crafted) or Vamp passive to remove sneak speed penalty and then optionally Darloc Brae set and just zoom around to what you need for dailies. The Arena daily basically completes itself.

NO. They should be worthy for the event ticket, and learn to defend/hide
As I see it, there are two schools of thought regarding this matter.

First, its a little selfish and immature to expect the fundamental purpose of something that you stand to gain from, to be artificially and unnaturally forced to change in order to suite what you want at the expense of someone else. And, anyone whose played other games with neutral flags such as New World, can tell you how disappointing it can be to traverse large parts of the map only to find everyone safe and opted out of pvp in a game built for pvp. It kills the expectation of the pvpers and defeats the entire purpose to having pvp as a feature to begin with, let alone systems specifically designed for common pvpers in mind.

Secondly, its a little rude and hateful to camp a starter zone and not allow pvers to at least safely leave. What I mean is, if you're blocking players who are new or not inclined to pvp, from even being allowed to safely enter the zone then that to me is not really pvping as intended, you are being malicious, conceited and a bit childish. This is why some people feel the way they do regarding this event, as I have seen a certain nasty person from DC along with his gang of 5 or 6 other people literally traversing zones to stop other players from even entering to do their quests. That's not sporting, it actually isn't fair to them and should not be allowed. No one thinks you are a cool dude for dropping meteors on groups of noobs.

Even still, its an interesting issue here because allowing people to have like a 'free pass' just to do quests during an event intended specifically for pvp isn't fair to the pvpers who are denied the opportunity for a fight and it isn't fair to the pve folks who are denied an opportunity to learn and maybe have a once in a life time experience fighting other players which more than likely they would never do on their own. However we have to realize that in this game some people never pvp, which makes it rather odd they would put themselves in this situation to begin with yet everyone has to be allowed to start from somewhere.

No offense but it's a PvP event. The only PvP event. I get you don't want others taking away your fun but by trying to enforce some social code that not only goes against the whole laws of PvP is kinda taking away their (PvPers) fun. In PvE zones your rules apply in PvP zones their rules apply.. It's the only event they get dedicated to them. It's the only time of the year PvP isn't dead and they actually get people going to dead zones like IC.

PvP is great and if you come out of your shell and try stuff you'll likely enjoy it. It plays completely different to PvE but there's more freedom. It's more dynamic and less static and you'll never learn and improve by hiding and running away. You have nothing to lose from trying (except Tel-Var if you're in IC but you can always bank it).

I get it's annoying being insta-killed by someone when you're just trying to do your dailies as fast as possible but that's the nature of these zones and they shouldn't change. The whole reason ZOS does a PvP event is because PvP itself is literally on life support except ZOS forgets to feed the patient that is dying and this is the only time a little bit of life gets breathed into a dying body.

I still just don't get this sentiment. I've literally not once EVER had to engage in any kind of pvp that I didn't want to in order to get my tickets. Like, I just don't see how it's relevant.

I personally WISH that pvp was a requirement for getting them. If people are going to come in a take up precious queue spots thus denying others that actually want to be there with their friends and having fun.... then they should at least be required to contribute to the campaign efforts some how.

Pretty much this. Doesn’t take much to cap a farm here and there.

I get what you are trying to say. I understand you think it's a middle ground that will help everyone out but the thing that always irks me about the posts that pop up like this one are that the people that enjoy Cyrodiil have already payed for the game and it already exists in this form. Why should they have to defend it's continued existence at all? The specific issue I take is that you mention compromise, as do others. But there is no compromise. It's always the same thing - PvErs always get a new zone and PvPers get nothing in return, unless you consider continuing to exist as something? If people would stop jealously looking at what others have and thinking of ways they could get it then we could just move on from this without worry that ZoS would actually make good on it because the majority covet something they feel they can't have. They can have it. Any time they want. It's already there as it is.

The zone exists as it does for the reason that it does. Why is that such a hard thing to come to terms with? When people suggest we should turn every other zone in the game into a PvP zone I take the same stance. Why? It was designed with its particular intent in mind already.

At least somewhere other than Gray Host PCNA. Nothing is going to get PvPers wanting to kill Pvers more than them adding to the queues we already have. I mean, I won't tell you what to do but use the information wisely

Yup, players that don't want to pvp can go to off campaigns or no-cp. Jump into GH on any platform, you asked for it.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

I appreciate the reasoned response -- I was looking past this event, as I already have 12 tickets from last event, and to be honest, the store stuff they have already shown doesn't look like it would be worth my time.

So, I'll just ignore Cyro this event, and when everyone is over it, go do what I do there, anyways..... I guess I am suggesting the beginner ski slope for people to learn on, before you throw them down an Olympic scale survival course ...

And I know PvP'ers pay for the game.... but if PvE'ers weren't also paying subscriptions, you'd not have it, either.

As a PVE player, I see where you’re coming from, I really do, however cyro and imp city were designed for PVP players in general.
While they are the “minority”, that’s THEIR territory.
If you go in expecting a free pass, you’re not going to get it. On the rare occasion I go in, I take a farm, or a mill, if I’m stupid enough to remain on site when the opponents arrive, I die, or they observe.
If I’m stupid enough to die and then go back (and get teabagged into the bargain after dying again), well, that’s what I asked for lol.

Just go in with no expectations, enjoy the scenery, and run like hell when you get found, that’s it, that’s all.

Again, it’s their zone, not ours.

Fair enough. Safe and fun adventures for you then :)

Perhaps the real problem with ESO these days is that it's a victim of its own success. I used to proudly tell new players that there was tons too see and do. More than they could hope to do on a daily basis! And that they should pick the parts they like and do them and if they find it boring after a while then go branch out. These days though it makes for a massive pool of opinions and skill levels and desires. ZoS can't possibly make them all happy. The best they can do is follow the money and stay sustainable and profitable. I think that's why we've seen many of the changes we have over the years.

To be honest I don't even really have a horse in this race. I don't even play anymore. But every patch or so I pop in and read the patch notes and comments in hopes that it will get me excited to try something out.

Thank you for mentioning this as I totally overlooked how unfair it would be to PvP people to have what conceivably would be a large number of PvE players there just for the part they want out of the event which prevents PvP players from being able to login or otherwise participate.

it will be more usefull to give short hints in places like zone/guildchat or social media to help people.

I copied this answer I wrote some days ago to a facebook post and now just paste it the next day when a similar topic comes up. No long guide required, so hide and seek games, just very short instructions:

"Grayhost is ok, as event-gankers prefer the event campaigns. Because in grayhost they would be killed quickly by experienced players. But if you find an event-campaign, where the whole map is dominated by your faction, even better. Travel to one of the 3 cities, quickly do a daily there, and you have your ticket. Takes 5-10 minutes.

You also can visit Imperial city. Do not enter the sewers, but walk to the room with 6 ladders leading up. Climb up to Arena District, take daily quest there on the safe platform (rescue 12 citizens). Shoot daedra to free 4 citizens, wait 5 minutes for them to respawn, repeat. Done after 10-15 minutes getting your eventticket. You are almost safe on this platform, except someone tries to shoot you from below with a bow, but even then you quickly can walk to the other side of the platform.

NO. They should be worthy for the event ticket, and learn to defend/hide
You can get your IC daily by doing the Arena daily and sniping enemies from your starter platform. You don't ever have to drop into the district. You can get hit from up there, but back up until you get the purple glow and you'll be fine.

As for Cyrodiil, there are no guarantees, but town dailies on one of the seven-day campaigns can often get you your tickets with no PVP, and scouting missions are, frankly, even easier to avoid player interference while doing.

I know there are people who just can't stand PVP at all, and I'm sympathetic. Plaguebreaker pretty much broke the PVP-camel's back for me, and it really hasn't been remotely fun in nearly a couple of years for me. But these events exist to get players to do different activities, and it's not even that hard to avoid combat.

Plus, I wear green, and I plan on PVPing for my tickets (even though I stopped enjoying it).

This is a big NO for me.

I'm no PVP-er, although I enjoy most of the little time I'm in Cyrodiil and a bit less in the Sewers and the City. Yes, it can become frustrating if you get killed multiple times, but then you have to adept, just like in PVE/dungeons/trials.
Some players will ignore you if they see you doing quests, sometimes I hide and wisper them before I reveal myself. After a wisper, I have even been 'protected' by an AD player against an EP player.
If you get killed over and over again by the same player, I think you can report that player because it is against the rules. I think I've even seen a topic about this on the forum.

YES. So all tamriel citizens can enjoy the Cyrodiil / IC and get their ticket quests done.
Yes they should, so i know who the easy targets are

I mean just roll an trolly unkillable tank build if you don't wanna PVP.

Here's one -- you can thank me later: https://eso-pvp-builds.com/cyrodiil-angler/

As an aside to this a "I'm not here to PVP" clothing flag will absolutely invite PVP from the very worst people, just a heads up.

Don't know why we force PVEers to do content they don't want.
Makes them hate it even more. And for every PVEer we turn, hundreds end up loathing our playstyle for life.
It's too high a price to pay for converting the odd few.
Cyrodiil is beautiful and we don't need to resort to coercion to get pvpers.
It's a testament to its greatness that literally years of poor performance haven't killed it.

ALSO: I'm not sure getting Pve'ers to show up in Cyro with a sign screaming "juicy AP right here" is a good idea.

Oh yes, please do wear a special colour, so I can target you even better. How about white? Healers often wear it, so they get easily focussed.

My permablocking lizard was always wearing green armor and I DO WANT to be attacked by as many people as possible. There is no fun otherwise.

At this point with queue hitting 100, and the event hasn't even started...give the pve players that hate pvp a Event only PvE IC/Cyrodiil for all I care.

    Remove rank, achievements, emp, etc...

Thank you for mentioning this as I totally overlooked how unfair it would be to PvP people to have what conceivably would be a large number of PvE players there just for the part they want out of the event which prevents PvP players from being able to login or otherwise participate.

Its honestly not that bad, even with the PVEers who go into the more populated campaigns instead of the new ones that ZOS spins up.

My PVP guild would warn guildies to log in to the main campaign a couple hours early before raid started so we could make it through the queues and into Cyrodiil about the time that raid was starting. If you got in early, we ran around PVPing. If we couldn't get into the main campaign, we'd pick another one and still get big fights. Like, if you stop worrying about the campaign score for the duration of the event and just care about good fights, its fantastic.

And for all that you hear a lot from the players who just log in, do a quick town quest and leave, there are a ton of players who actually do go PVP. There's zergs and big keep battles galore, and even if the new players don't necessarily know what they are doing, its a ton of fun to fight with and against them. Before my rural internet + performance issues meant I couldn't anymore, I used to lead some of those PVEers in PUG raids, and its a blast. They wind up having fun too, because the thing about Cyrodiil is that its designed for groups. If you don't know how to PVP, you're going to have more fun in a group with players who can support you and get stuff accomplished than you are trying to figure out the intricacies of Cryodiil on your own.

Whitestrake's Mayhem is basically the event where a ton of players are willing to casually PVP for event tickets. Most of them won't be back to make it a regular part of their gameplay, and that's fine. ZOS is fine with that (see also: the Imperial City Celebration).

I'm a PVPer and I think having casual PVPers and town questers is pretty great. Its like the only time of year I even look at town quests, and its kind of fun when someone tries to capture a flag and I'm defending it as best I can with players who don't really know what they're doing but are giving it their best go at it too.

I get it; some PVPers will act really resentful about all these casuals rolling in, taking up queue spots, and then leaving. But frankly? They are just grumpy. Enjoy the event!

*Cough* Tales of Tribute rewards. *Cough*

Different groups of players like to complain about "desirable" rewards which are "locked" behind types of content that they are either unable or unwilling to play. It's just human nature, I guess. And it's each player's right to decide which content they wish to engage in, so the best thing to do is just grit your teeth and bear it.

As far as the OP's suggestion, there's already a generally-accepted way to signal that you don't want to fight another player in Cyrodiil or the Imperual City-- go into your Block stance and hold it. Sometimes it will be acknowledged and honored, but by no means is the other player required to honor it and break off their attack. In any case, I think it's a better option, since you aren't painting a giant bull's eye on your back by wearing a green outfit, or-- as suggested during previous events-- by carrying a white flag or whatever.

Frankly, I think the best thing to do is just get over your fear of being killed in PvP. Once you do that, you can have a grand time during this event and hopefully even be a bit helpful to your alliance, such as leaping off the wall-- or exiting the main gate-- of a keep that's under attack so you can try to set fire to a battering ram, even though you know that you're going to get killed by a swarm of enemy players who are not amused by your efforts, then rezzing and going back to try again, over and over. Once in a while you might actually succeed, but even if you don't then you can at least try to be mildly annoying. :)
