I second the earlier post about having so many activities in the game to do to keep myself entertained. Every day I am thankful for that.

Today I am grateful for my trading guild for allowing my mediocre stamblade to participate in a starter trials team (with no restrictions!) and learn. I am getting a lot of good advice and getting to know some really nice people. I hope I don’t disappoint them, they have been so supportive.

Today I'm thankful for the pleasant little surprises we find in the game by accident. Well, at least that's what happened to me:

I found this fine fellow hiding in plain sight by one of the entrances to Gonfalon's crafting building. I passed by there countless times for weeks and didn't see the kitty.

    Aww you lovely people!

Some great posts and I can't wait to have a go and discover the areas that some of you are currently in.

I didn't get chance to dive in this weekend as I've been busy with the podcast and things, but before I did I managed to get up to Lvl 47 so I'm almost at that magic number 50 (and beyond!). It's the first time I will have hit a semi-cap in any MMO!

Then I will be grateful for another bit of spreadsheet wizardry as I try to figure out where my next set of points will go!

    I am grateful for:

---FANTASTIC storylines (I mean, seriously, people can complain about how meh some plots were - I like(d) them A FETCHING LOT)

---recurrent NPCs (Naryu, Razum Dar, Lyranth, Skordo, Darien, Ayrenn, Emeric, to name but a few)

---time spent in my beloved Mundus (the volcanic land of Morrowind, pristine Summerset, tangled jungles of Valenwood and Elsweyr - ah, come on) and planes of Oblivion (Molly Bally, daddy Dagon, lecherous Web Spinner, daddy Hircine, etc.)

---devs, who despite the playerbase's initial reluctance to some changes, were adamant in their resolve and gave us eg. AWA, but also anti-RNG, stickerbook, antiquities, and some other petty things

---Cyrodiil - because despite laggy combat (a decade old equipment, after all) I can enjoy what I had missed in some other (no longer venerable) MMORPGs. Always willing to learn from betters

    Sooo... good job ZOS!

Keep up the good work, and...

Today I am grateful for Blackwood, and for the fond memories it brings up of playing TES: Oblivion many years ago. It was my first TES game, my first open world RPG, and to say I was captivated would be a massive understatement. My family and I spent hours taking turns playing together and watching each other explore. I wouldn't know it at the time, but looking back, it was one of the happiest times of my life.

Being able to revisit Blackwood and rekindle some of those memories is true joy, and I'm very thankful for it.

PS: Love the thread idea, it's always good to inject a little more positivity into one's day.

    Housing Guests!

Seriously, I'm so grateful for them. I never really enjoyed base building mechanics in games until Fallout 4, when the settlement system (that I assumed I would hate) made me fall in love with it, but specifically because of the settlers in Fallout 4 and how they not only express appreciation in what you've built for them, but they actually use it all. They'll occupy the homes you build, take up the jobs you create, and then hang out at the bar you created at the end of their shifts, and it all feels so alive and rewarding.

Now sure, ESO houseguests aren't quite on that level, but I love that I've been able to create a bar at the centre of my build and have all my houseguests turn up there every now and again to congregate when they're not occupying the specific roles and locations I've created for them - except for Sereyne, who spends 100% of her time in the bar 😸

Hi all, your friendly Khajiit Warden here, J'hattee the Geek!

I just wondered if you all would be up for joining in this thread and sharing something about the game that you love, like, or are grateful for?

I know the Devs have been going through a tough time currently (justified or not - personally I think not - but I don't want this thread to be about that) so I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can pop in, and just mention something that has recently happened in-game that we can say something positive about..

A bit of positivity and kindness goes a long way, so in spirit of this, I thought I would start this thread. Here are some simple rules:

    1. Try and put something positive every now and again. Maybe you've visit a new place and you think it's really beautiful, or discovered a part of the story (try and keep it relatively spoiler free, please) that took your breath away a little bit. Maybe a positive experience or a first experience with a new aspect of gameplay or dungeon.
    2. Start the post with "Today, I am grateful for..." (or 'this one is' if you are Khajiit, like me!)
    3. Give a bit of explanation or short anecdote around your first line.
    4. Post as many times as you want! - I am personally going to try every now and again as I explore more through the main story line and discover new areas, and put a new post.
    5. Try and keep it positive and constructive.

Don't let the influential web of the pesky Daedra win! We can all be critical of the devs, but there are some truly magical things in the world of ESO and it can't flourish if we are just bashing them all the time. Together we can keep their spirits up and remind them of all the cool things they have done, so that we are motivated to improve!

    So anyway I shall start....

Today, this one is grateful for Coldharbour!

I visited this place for the first time last week whilst I was off sick with Covid, and wow what a place! When I first got there I expected it to just be a small Solo dungeon type thing! But it has it's own map and everything! The place is really cool - I love the atmosphere set by the music and artwork. Plus I love the fact that it seems to have an empty city that we have to populate, it's got me hooked

Having returned from New World, there are many elements of ESO that I am grateful to have in an MMO. Combat in ESO while it can be problematic is so much better than in New World.

When they nerf it in update 35, I will hate them to effing hell and back again.
When I was not using oakensoul, I was doing 0 kill, 20 kill assist, 20 deaths in bg. Any match any class I play. With oakensoul I was able to at least get 3-5 kills per bg match, any class any match.

I'm grateful that I finally completed The Rift and finished Cadwell's Gold on PC EU, so I could move on to Craglorn. (I'm slowly making my way through the game "in proper order" on PC EU.) Doing the quests in order and at leisure has [EDIT: helped me gain a deeper appreciation of ESO's world building and lore building.]

I'm grateful that when I rode up to the chapel entrance in Bruma on my DC character in a campaign completely dominated by EP, and an EP player rode up to the entrance right behind me, that we left each other alone as we grabbed our quests. We even ended up getting the same quest and rode practically side by side to the standing stones and then back to Bruma.

I'm grateful that when I tried to solo Graveld and got insta-killed by 11x Scurry as usual, I decided to try again instead of giving up as usual, and just try to avoid getting between Graveld and his hidey hole (since I didn't find anything helpful online about what "Scurry" is and how to deal with it). Who knew that it wasn't the sticky green slime killing me, but just getting flattened by Graveld as he charged back into his hidey hole? Now I can add Graveld to the very short list of Summerset world bosses I'm able to solo.

Most of all, I'm grateful that ESO gives me many hours of enjoyment each day.

[Edited to finish a sentence I'd unintentionally cut short.]

That's awesome. I'm doing the same thing myself, it does get a bit overwhelming when there's a load of quest givers hanging around the major towns and cities - but I've found I'm able to overcome my OCD and ignore the quest icon hovering over their head and come back to them later...

And I totally agree - the lore is without a doubt my favourite aspect of the game.

I think I should be maybe able to dive in and do a bit more on Thursday - hopefully my crafting research slots should be empty too - so I'll be grateful for that!!

Really enjoy reading through all of these - I hope it continues.

    Grateful for the PvP event.

IC was a meatgrinder.... all alliances were wel represented, fights all over, groups & solo players mingling like an alchemists volatile brew.

Battles in Cyro are energetic and filled with a plethora of different encounters. Big offensive and defensive ticks.

Even pushing up daisies gives a new perspective (tongue in cheek):

Yes, the PvP events are usually great fun for me, even if I'm so lousy at PvP. Of course, it can be fun outside of the event, but the population is understandably larger during the event.

It does take a great deal of patience and the proper attitude, though. It's very easy to let gankers and bombers get under your skin and frustrate you when you're just trying to do a quest, or get to a sewer boss's location so you can try for a style page. In the latter case, it's often better to enter the sewer from a district because gankers like to camp out near the bases and kill any players who try to enter the sewers from there.

Despite how things may go at times with disagreements, I must say I am very grateful for the entirety of the game and also the people who work at zos.

I love eso. This game is truly like a second home. I also really like the zos team. Some genuinely cool people working there and even though I may not always agree with their choices, I still think the people are great.
Anyone else remember Titan Pain Train?
Or that one time they did a stream using someone's phone because they had some technical issues and were in a rush due to needing to catch a flight the next day? Still did the stream anyways though!

There are plenty of other fun moments with streams and other staff interactions that I have not mentioned that really make the game and community feel like a second home.
Not to mention the countless hours of joy ESO has brought me and, hopefully, will continue to bring.

I am currently on a break, but am interested in finally playing a Warden. Really liking the idea of a nature mystic type wood elf character. The most exciting part? Decorating their house! I LOVE housing and my favourite part is making gardens. Especially magical gardens.

Love this one @LukosCreyden. I agree it is like a second home.

I've always been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls universe. It's one of my top three (the other two being LOTR and Star Wars).

Skyrim and Oblivion for many years have been my go-to escape, and I love how easy it's been to transition from those games into the ESO world, plus I get to see other people in the game with me.

@chattygeekHD hot take; ESO is, in my opinion, the greatest Elder Scrolls game.
Sure, it may not have started that way but today? ESO has done so much for lore and general worldbuilding.
The amount of different cultures you can visit in game, the stories, the RP and immersion opportunities. This game has it all. Sure, it loses a bit of the freedom the single player games have, but it adds so much more. My inner lore nerd was so happy to see that the Bosmer FINALLY have their own identity and accent in game. I always felt like they often got a little bit left out.
Also, even if you are mostly a solo player like myself, having other players around and in chat makes the world really feel alive.

Also, ESO is my favourite game for mage gameplay. I love having so many different skill lines full of spells to choose between. Sure, some of those spells are very niche in use, but that kind of fits the fantasy of a mage even more.

I could blab on forever about things I love in this game tbh, even if I do get salty at the game sometimes.

I agree that ESO has added a lot of lore and fleshed out many of the races. The chapter/DLC lore has been really great. I was especially happy about the Elsweyr expansion. Getting to visit the Khajiit homeland has always been an ES dream of mine. If we didn't have ESO and just had to wait for TES games, we'd never get to travel to all these locations.
