How will Update 35 affect the time you spend on the game?

I've already mostly stopped playing. The game isn't enjoyable with the new changes looming over.

Well with the nerfs to Oakensoul, DKs, and dynamic HoT (I'm a healer for PUGs) I don't think there will be as much I *can* do. I'm a lower-tier player and need all the help I can get. These changes are a punch to the face. There is only so much ToT and decorating I can stand. Needless to say, the little vet stuff I have been able to do on my healer and DK will be over.

It doesn't make me happy. Right now I'm thinking about other MMOs, but ESO is the only game I've ever played so I would really rather stay, but like a said cards and houses isn't enough.

My playtime is a small fraction of what it once was. While I dont see this making me uninstall, it certainly isn't pulling my back into the game. I didn't buy High Isle which was a first. I usually sub in 6 month intervals, then immediately cancel. If I am playing at all, I am subbed. Not sure if I will renew right away when it runs in 2 weeks.

Gonna give MYM a hard push next week, we will see after that.

My favorite PVE DPS is NB, and they are a joke at the moment. Hardest rotation and lowest DPS of any that I have tried. My favorite PVP class, mag sorc, is even worse off. Sorcs are basically free AP at the moment. They havent felt this weak in PVP since I began playing in beta.

I am heading into 3Q and Whitestrake with 12 Event Tickets and nothing to spend them on. I saw the Power Ranger outfit and decided maybe it is time to get off this year's Event Ticket grind for a couple months. The next two after that are Undaunted and the High Isle one. Then I assume we find out what 4Q holds for Event Tickets as we head into Witches Festival.

Edit: actually, I should have taken 2Q off, as well, due to the mount being less than interesting. Silly me.

While it likely (at least in the short term) will not affect the time I spend on the game, it will likely affect the activities I engage in. Even with the reverting of part of the nerf, I am worried that with the proposed changes I will likely never be able to complete vMA and so unless they do something to change that, I will likely give up hopes of ever completing vMA.

Slightly less probably. More importantly, the time I do spend in there will be spent different - probably primarily RP.

Unless things change differently I'll just drop out of PvP, and only play PvE on significantly less characters than before. CBA to redo them every other update.

Well, I went and checked, my current ESO subscription runs out on Oct 1st.
I always cancel right after I sub, as I hate getting surprised by an automatic draft from my account ... so, the question is, will I resub another 6 months in Oct?
I have only been playing this game since January, and I feel the frustration I see others saying..... how some have done it for years, I will never know. But, as I have said before, I judge a game on fun.... if I am not having fun, there are other games I can go to, where I will.

I'm already spending less time on eso, and I cancelled my subscription (which has now run out). For me the damage has already been done, and I don't know how much more I can invest in this game because end game players are already leaving.

I know some people like to think that this is some out of the blue reaction where the "elitists" are suddenly freaking out, but it's not. Players were already leaving and going to other games, however this was the last drop for a lot of players. I can say a lot of why these particular changes and the communication from ZOS has had this effect, but the main issue is that whatever faith players had in the future of eso is now gone. Even if none of the changes go live ZOS has shown an absolutely staggering lack of understanding for how their own content works.

The changes in the update won't affect my gameplay enough to affect my pleasure in playing the game.

ESO has been my go to MMO for at least the last 2 years, since my other go-to MMO went full P2W. Nothing about that changes with the update.

Though I will admit all the updates in No Mans Sky have pulled me away more than I expected. But that's not because of any negatives to ESO - just a lot of really positive things happening in NMS.

I've played some of my usual content on the PTS and have noticed no appreciable differences, so I don't intend to play ESO any less than I currently do because of U35. Likewise, I don't intend to play ESO any more than I currently do, either.

A few of the previous updates had much more significant impacts than U35 on my ability to clear certain content that I have grown to enjoy, such as soloing resources in Cyrodiil (as PvE, or fighting against the NPCs, rather than as PvP, which I'm not any good at), or soloing certain world bosses. Those previous updates may have made it more difficult, if not impossible, for me to successfully clear specific content, but they didn't influence how much time I spend playing ESO.

Note that I generally do spend less time playing ESO than I once did, but the reasons for that have nothing to do with updates past, present, or future.

First of all, I was spending some time playing TES:Arena, and now I'm also spending a lot of time playing TES2:Daggerfall, so that's taken several hours away from playing ESO each day.

Also, I recently stopped doing the daily crafting writs on all of my alternate characters, because it seemed to be taking up half or more of the time I was devoting to ESO each day, especially with playing other TES games for several hours each day.

Associated with cutting back on daily crafting writs was the decision to stop worrying about logging in twice a day to cycle through my characters and collect the mail from their crafting hirelings. I was actually setting timers on my iPad so I'd know when it had been 12 hours since my last login, which was introducing some unnecessary stress about whether or not I'd be able to log in twice each day.

Now that I've taken a much more relaxed approach to the game, I can focus more on enjoying the content that's fun for me, and from what I've seen so far on the PTS, U35 isn't going to have much impact on that.

That’s one that I was pretty upset about. I put skill points into hirelings and didn’t realize I had to login after a cool down. I was expecting 2 of each in my mailbox once a day. I think that was a reasonable assumption to make.

I likely fall into the category of player that ZoS seems to think these massive nerfs adjustments are going to help.
    But I'm in wait-and-see mode.

On the one hand what I've read about the coming changes I cannot logically see how it is going to benefit me.
As a very non-big number spitter I am still getting comfortable with weaving and if I hit 15k - 20k during a dragon fight for example, that's doing good for me.
Then I read that I am going to be losing DPS with every character class I play...
I also actually like bar swapping, I feel it gives combat a bit more dynamic feel.
So these changes will be helping me access harder content? Fuzzy logic that.

But on the other hand, who knows. I don't visit the PTS, so I won't know until I know, ya know?
If it's a noticeable hit to where I struggle to solo world bosses or solo dungeons that I know I can do well now, IDK.
Maybe it will be time for an extended break.

They said wait and see, so I will.

I think I had the same assumption the first time I upgraded that perk on my main character.

But when I didn't automatically get 2 mailings a day from each hireling, I went back and reread the perk's descriptive text. If I'm not mistaken, it says it's based on a cooldown after each login-- maybe not those exact words, but words to that effect.

So when I decided to "purchase" that perk and upgrade it on each of my alts, I weighed whether it would be worth it, and made the decision to log in twice a day if possible.

But I think the mail attachments are slightly better than the prior level of the perk even if you don't manage to log in twice a day, aren't they?

As I'm on Series X and have no access to PTS, so I don't know for sure until it goes live.

    As to the question...
I'm already playing less. As mentioned above, U33 and the AWA debacle already soured me on this dev teams approach to the game (and their non-responsiveness to asked for feedback), so that took a big hit to my play time.

Now add to it this complete combat overhaul travesty and what it could mean to my mid-level playstyle, and it feels about time for a break. While I've usually been fine with rolling with the 3-month cycle punches, churn fatigue is definitely become a thing!

My annual sub runs out at the end of Aug. (just shy of the console release unfortunately), so I'll cancel and will convert it to a monthly so I can test everything out on live and see what's what. If content is then out of reach and my toons are/feel busted, I will only be out a month instead of the yearly sub, and will cancel for good.

Been playing daily since day one and never even thought about cancelling my sub (never actually even paid attention to when it auto-renewed), but it really feels like death from a thousand cuts and I can see they've got their blade out again... and I'm on my last few hit points.

I say slightly more because I specifically want to get back into eso after being away for awhile.

That said, sometimes I run a sword & board build in Cyrodiil and with the reduced damage something tells me I'll be dominating... again. :D

My favorite class is in a great spot for hybrid builds. I'm curious to see how various classes and groups adapt to the DOT/HOT changes. And they're releasing a PVP set that may be a ****show unseen since Sload's Semblance dropped.

    Wouldn't miss it.

I don't know yet. I don't test on PTS. When the patch is live, I'll see if the game is still fun to play, meaning whether I can still do the activities I enjoy without them feeling like a slog, and without having to completely change my build (I use the term "build" loosely because I pretty much use the skills I like and that's my build), and without having to relearn my class.

If I have to change my build to enjoy the activities I like (I'm not an end game PvE player), I'm gone. If I have to relearn my class, I'm gone. If it takes me longer to kill stuff, I'm gone. If not, I'll stay, and I'll change my sub back to annual (changed it to monthly because it renews tomorrow and I didn't want to be locked in for another year before I try out these changes).

    That is all.

    (I play a bow/bow warden, so I'd say there's a 50/50 chance I'll be staying, given the changes.)

I play non CP Cyrodiil mostly and the patch is killing few of my builds.

I'll just pick another build that is least affected by the patch and will continue to fight other players.

It just feels bad that this patch is killing more viable builds and promotes zerglings even further.

Wife and I both unsubbed. We both play less now. Friends have left. One prog trial group folded another is on life support.

Why would we continue to play a game where the aim is to randomly remove the fun every 3 months, get ridiculed by staff and have no one listen to extreme concerns, even when those concerns are aired by a lot of the community.

There are other games out there. I am still playing purely for the friends still here, not for the game anymore. (I do enjoy trials and prog groups, but that is becauseit is with my friends).

If I can convince those friends to all move game with me then I don't see me playing ESO again.

Crown store selling in game buyable resources, the push on crown crstes, nerfing items a few months after they came out with an expansion. Removing accessibility for disabled players. Other games don't do this.

ZoS need to rethink WHY people play games and pay them money.
