I have been freaking out about this patch since the notes were released. I think we, as a community, have provided ame reason why current changes are not just bad, but game breaking in many ways. We were assured that we should see changes to proposed changes next week.

This post is me trying to tell myself that things will work out. Watching my friends leaving in droves, my groups disbanding, guilds becoming undone, I keep telling myself that there is no way a company could do this to their own product.

Many people on this forum said that trust goes both ways. We have been told that there is a vision that ZOS is following with proposed changes.

I humbly ask ZOS to share said vision. I want people to stop leaving. I want to know that once all is said and done the community will be rewarded with amazing content and not more reworks. Because if all we are getting is lip service, this game will not last.

I quit this game 4 times upon release because I sucked so bad I couldn't kill a public dungeon boss. No one but a friendly player was kind enough to tell that to my face. What this game needs is a good tutorial system not a nerf.

Either people at ZOS are all super good and think the rest of us are on the same level or they just don't play the game. (I'm guessing it's both) Regardless. We need something amazing to bring people back. Like... next chapter should introduce 3 new raids, new class, new weapon, more housing storage, new pvp zone and a freaking tutorial

I miss how Wildstar taught players how to play the game.

They had a dungeon that was accessible from baby levels, and you could not pass go- and the mechanics were 1 near one shots to force you to lear, and the dungeon would not contuine until all players completed the mechanic save for the last boss of the respected rounds you could kinda carry.

And honestly it became so foundational and learning that most of the end game community at least had their ABCs. It had both norma and veteran versions so there was a reason to go back and learn the mechanics that were expected on a vet level.

See "The Protogames" as the example.

This could be done super easily with like a Kvatch style arena with a fun announcer giving you tips to learn, and having players go over old and new mechanics to make the PVE combat feel more intutiitve.

Meanwhile fungal grotto, spindle clutch and banished cells just teach you that if you kick the boss hard enough he fall down, and sometimes there is a red circle. Its like watching young kids play football and crowd around the ball till it pops into a goal of some sort. And then you jump into veterans and they kick your teeth in, massively unforgiving with no inbetween.

Look at their track record. They never share the roadmap to their madness. Zo$ makes off the wall changes trying these things like it’s still beta.

I remember the patch trap beast had a 60k tool tip on my stam sorc for some unknown reason. Zo$ even was told how bad that update was on PTS and still shoveled it down the sewage pipe of bad patches.

There have been good changes they have made but when you screw up so many times you accidentally make something good eventually.

Yeah. I guess that is true. Just freaking sad to watch how FFXIV community flourishes while here, in ESO, we are living on a prayer.

Because there is less gatekeepers and more learning mechanics how it should be. But there are problems but it’s very little compared to eso. Plus yoshi p who made the game went through plenty of mmos in his time off decades ago before he joined square enix. So he knows how the mmo works even though when they try do it the first time around it failed but they reworked it from Starch.
