Yeah. I agree. You have to give the horse at least a chance to drink the water before you give up.

    We did.

We all gave them a chance.

My point is that I don't make any final decisions until after they finish up with PTS. I always give them a chance, even if it is just sitting around for a few weeks waiting on the inevitable. You know... It ain't over until the fat lady sings... Don’t count your chickens before they hatch...

Even if ZOS changing their mind on something this big will happen when pigs fly.

Yeah, I haven't given up yet either. I don't have a concrete plan on when I'll say, "there's no point to sticking this out." When we get info on week 3, that will probably give a pretty good indicator for me. That will tell us whether ZOS is taking these issues seriously, or if they're going to go, "yeah, there's some crybabies on the forums, but we're going to ignore them and power on through."

I do fully understand the players who just want out now. The don't want weeks of false hope that things will get better only to be disappointed in the end, and they really don't want to watch something they loved die. I get that. I'm not giving up yet. Obviously, you're not. But, I do understand why some people are already walking.

I just have to wonder though. Who likes these changes? Who gets helped by these changes? They seem to be missing their stated goal (which I agree with) by so far it's not even recognizable. Yes there is time to fix it, but history tells me the likelihood is very slim.

~8% of players, as shown by all the polls here on the forums, on youtube, facebook, twitter, and reddit, with 3% room for error (meaning as low as 5% and as high as 11%) have been documented as liking the changes. 80% with the same room for error have been shown to dislike it, and 12% are mixed or other (like don't care).

I think there's definitely a degree of people that only PvP and only care about the ramifications of PvP, which as we've seen from the few PvP crowd, they are generally happy as Healing is getting Nuked, Dot's(with DK supremacy included) getting shafted, the Big Proc sets getting Balanced, the big issue they see is the Nocturnal Ploy being ridiculous. And there's also some people just happy that the classes they hate are getting Nerfed.

There's always the PvP vs PvE conversation, I would argue that Both PvP and PvE should be Healthy and Co-Exist, but instead they fight and blame eachother for every change while Zos keep rolling out progressively worse patches every quarter.

Most week 1 patch notes go live. These particular patch notes going live with be especially bad fir the game at large.

They already said they'll be looking at feedback and adjusting in week 3 (as usual). Look at the changes from '20, those were reverted. Most people here are reacting too soon, or without even testing. It is silly to disband week one.

You really must be new here.

Yeah...but as the saying goes, if you think this has a happy ending you haven't been paying attention.

Last week they told us that we could eat [redacted] and die, that "the, 'good old days,' of constant balance changes, having to relearn the game, and being punished for the, 'sins,' of the top performers being too skilled are back, baby!"

"Excuse me. Where did the devs go that were keeping combat changes relatively stable with only slight changes in well-focused portions of the game?"
"They've gone, sir. They've all gone. And we're back."
    "And who are you, exactly?"
"The incredibly shortsighted people that still unaccountably make wild and sweeping changes to combat every other patch."

We knew when they suggest those backwards heavy/light attacks changes a couple of years ago they'd try again. We may have won the battle that day but we knew in our hearts that the shadows of that dark patch were festering in some evil place deep down in the earth. Waiting to rise again in new form, with new strength. These patch notes are that shadow. The power they have attained since our last battle is beyond imagining!

Okay, I'll stop with both the humor and the Tolkien-esque prose now. Just needed to have a little fun with it.

Bethesda did this thing a few years back with paid content. They floated a paid content boat and it sank. I knew even then that someone behind the curtain really wanted this, and that they would try again. Maybe they figured the players weren't ready, or maybe they just needed a second pass to get it right. Either way, they eventually floated their new boat.

You may be right about LA and HA. This may be a pet idea that they never intended to give up on. Maybe they figured that with time, and natural attrition, enough of the old fuddy duddy players would leave and the new hip players would be on point with the changes? Maybe they just figured they would keep trying until they got it right? Probably the latter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
