I like the new animantion for Templar Jabs and appearance. Here is why.

Its like the closet we can get to an actual spear line, my hopes is they modify the other skills to update it and thus its more of a true spear in design, now the thing with the spear though, is I do want to see them like make it more holy looking, but maybe have one morph that makes it more dark looking. Aka Dark Templars/Light Templars I would like to see more of that theme with the class. Need to add a bit of flair of light to it or darkness depending on morph, but keep the new look of it. Then of course make it do better damage then Flurry. But over all I think the new animation is in fact better, and far better represents a spear.

I would like to see a proper spear line eventually, as a weapon damage type. But until then Templar is the closet we will ever get to actual spears.
Edit: I do think Imperial Champion, would fit the Aedric theme so much better though. It does fit Stendarr and the Divine theme, much better. They could switch the animantiion spear to this and I think it would be much better.

Well they could use a better looking spear model, they have those. Like this one, according to a friend looks better then the Nighthollow look and more Aedric, maybe Zenimax can look into doing that.

If it is possible to make different animations for skills and costomize it like costume it can be nice.

But change animations that some players already like/dislike is not good thing to do.

I say it as DK - who do self produced mud on press of the skill and than throw it !

But i like how balls looks like, dislike only first part of the skill. It makes skill bad. With out first part or as a healers morph it even would not be so bad.

I like the look of this weapon a lot. I don't know why they use Nighthollow for the animation? And sure the jabs is fine but just make the last hit another jab. Like why the wrap around the waist and stick it. It looks so flimsy like the spear bends like Deltia said.. a freaking noodle. It bends like a noodle.

Because when you have a stabby spear what you want to do is smack people on the side of the elbow.

I wouldn't mind the animation soooo much if they had kept it as a spear of light, a spray painted staff isn't really the holy spear i had in mind.

TBH though i'm sore about my character that i play literally 99% of the time getting nerfed into obscurity if this all goes ahead

I love the current/old animation because it feels more magic based than using something that looks like a weapon model. The new animation looks wonky - especially on the last jab, and it sounds off. Personally just don't like it. Hope they don't go through with this change or at least don't mess with all the other skill animations.

If this new jabs animation was just a cosmetic overlay people had the option to use, that would be neat though.

Visually, I like the new animation better but, I'm not really sure messing with the skill to that degree was worthwhile.

I'd also expect that the new animation if implemented would basically kill the idea of ever getting spears as a weapon because you'd have too much similarity as the new animation does look like an actual spear rather than a magic thingy.

I actually like the spear too. I just think it needs polishing a bit. Totally like the idea for a dark morph.

If I had to accept a janky new animation, I would much prefer the Imperial champion style. It looks more like a spear than nighthollow.

The live animation summons a spear made out of light.
The pts one summons a slightly opaque spear with some coloration. It looks cheap.

Yeah the PTS one does look cheap - especially since it's just a Nighthollow staff that has no connection to Templars? That I'm aware of.

The original spears of light look and feel much better. Makes more sense to the over all aesthetic of the Templar class.

Although I don't mind the new animation (regardless of the nerfs), I do agree the spear could be more like the original in it's glowy, brightness. That was better than the new spear.
