Pushing this, I don't know why everyone is talking about some minor class balancing changes or light attack nerfs. This is by for the biggest change in this patch, and it will shift the meta in both PvP and PvE away from using dots at all.
You already pointed out the issues so I'm not repeating, but dots (in PvP) are already super weak. Long lasting dots have no impact on fast-paced fights where a nightblade kills you in 3 GCDs, and in trash fights for PvE this change is just straight up horrible as well.

at least 50-60% of the class balance changes are purely the dot nerfs lol
sorcs and wardens got more of a brunt of non-dot related changes, but on a whole almost every class and weapon skill line is like 40-60% dot changes
