As a fellow sorc lover, what do you guys think about the upcomming changes in patch 35?

On a scale from 1(very disatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied)
Forexample:
10/10 Sorc were outperforming all the other classes and needed a nerf!
7/10, Sorc needed to be scaled back a good bit, so a change was needed.
5/10 i don’t really play sorc, so the changes dosent affect me.
3/10 Sorc even with the buff to single target, still didnt see any marginal increase in regular endgame raidcompositions. So these changes was unnecesary.
1/10 Sorc finally became abit more competetive, in endgame senarios, after the last patch. And now its going back in the dumbster. Why…?
Forexample:

Sorc has unique skills and pets.
DK lose unique buff has no pets.
But changes to all classes was so bad that all classes are bad now.
Sorc is bad, templar is bad, necro is bad, dk is garbage with no good unique skills.
So ... now all are bad !

✭✭On a bright side, Bound Aegis is neatly buffed. 20 Seconds of minor protection as extra buff, reasonable duration for block mitigation to use actively, and same nice passives for slotting as before.2 -

One of the two of us definitely has gone mad. It only remains to define whether this one is the whole world or just me.

✭✭✭✭Honestly 0 out of 10. StamSorc was overpowered because of one skill. They completely gutted every single damage ability. But also, MagSorc has been absolute trash for several patches now and all this farce did for MagSorc was to gut all the skills that it was crutching on to bring it remotely up to par. Crystal Weapon was using a melee damage coefficient. So yes, it was overperforming at range. Easy fix. Change the damage coefficient to ranged.
Instead, they nerf every aspect of the archetype: light attacks, Crystal Weapon, the damage coefficient, Bound Armorments, and the broken Savage Werewolf set (that they laughably claim wasn't broken, but intended as a secret, LMAO). Oh and just for giggles, let's nerf Crystal Fragments as well... Lazy and ignorant.
Nerfing the broken set and fixing the damage coefficient of crystal weapon would have brought the archetype into line with the rest of the meta. Instead, it is no longer a viable play option. Just absurdly lazy.8 -
OolongSnakeTea✭✭✭✭I have main'd stam sorc since release, coming and going between patches and watching it change into purple-nightblade (the armaments changes) and now pets for stam ect.
It's a strange patch cycle for sure. I was classically always duel wield, then went 2 hander with Blackwood after all this time. Now that I'm finally enjoying the flow of 2 hander, its getting adjusted.
I really feel like this patch has been an extreme response to the DPS performance of last patch, with no middle ground. And the whole light attack changes- making bound armaments a 'debatable optional move' now just feels off putting. Maybe offering a minor empower upon releasing 4 daggers would be rewarding to players who get a good rhythm going would be nice."I try to create sympathy for my characters, then turn the monsters loose."– Stephen King1 -

✭✭✭✭✭I think the the light/heavy attack and DOT nerfs overall actually kind of help out Shield sorcs defensively. With DOTs hitting for less, and light attacks hitting for less, shields should hold up better overall. I don't think, damage wise, mag sorcs will really change offensively much. Still using crushing shock, still bursting with frag, curse, and fury. The biggest hit is probably the Attro nerf.0 -

Yes after all these years someone decided the Atro is overperforming? And DoTs? I still have a bitter taste in my mouth from when they messed with DoTs in 2019, first buffing them and then nerfing them a month later to worse than before they were buffed.
Now they're angering me again. Do they keep getting a new combat team or something?1 -

Atro was definite directly nerfed as a result of Oakensoul. You could drop 3 Atros at a time if built right using Oakensoul and still have the same tooltip as if you were running a normal 2 bar setup. But, I will admit, Atro is a super strong single target ultimate.
I am actually kind of looking forward to the more AOE oriented morph of Atro. Should be good to use instead of Destro ult for AOE situations.
From a PVP perspective, the DOT changes do nothing to nerf Sorc damage. Since the only real dot like ability a sorc regularly uses in PVP is Curse, and that isn't a dot. From a PVE perspective, the DOT changes impact the 2 AOEs sorcs often uses. WOE will likely remain, but I could see myself dropping Maelstrom inferno back bar finally for Titanic Cleave, to run Carve for the bleed. Will work better for more mobile fights since the dot will stick to enemies and you can avoid having to recast a ground AOE too often. LL buff may make it on the bar too, but orbs movement is still kind of interesting.0 -

✭✭✭✭I must admit I quit this game several months back so it baffles me even more what they actually envision StamSorcs to be.
First they went all in on the light attack theme with passive and active Bound Armaments, then added the carbon copy of Elemental Weapon and now, all of a sudden, decide to nerf the damage of light attacks, Crystal Weapons (41,5%) and Bound Armaments (38%)?
On top of that they simply removed the passive dmg increase of BA without any buff in return.
Not even gonna start about the other changes.

Dont forget that they also cut the greater Atronach. Only 15sec and most of the time it will dumping around befor attacking.
Base dmg of the Twilight nerfed, so i dont know if its really 2 slots worth. ZOS seems always to forget that Sorc pets needs 2 Slots....Glantir Sorcerer ~ Ebonheart Pact (EU)1 -
Savagejack✭✭✭Make Bound Armaments the new stam sorc spammable. 4 knife throws every 0.3 sec. Gain a charge every hit. If 4 of the blades connect within 10 seconds, they summon a whirling sword that slices Oblivion Damage 10 meters around you and bypasses resistances. It will give incentive to reward getting into melee range, and managing your charges on the strikes. Add the current passives to the Daedric Summoning skill line.
Endless Fury should last 6 seconds on target, and deal DoT lightning damage every 2 seconds. If the enemy receives a tick below 25% health, it explodes into an execute that applies the 6 sec dot again on anything within its radius, including the original target. For every target that did not die when it reapplied, refund some of the magicka cost.
Mage's Wrath should be changed into a stamina morph called Implosion. Two strikes of physical and lightning damage. Each hit scales higher the lower your enemies health. Upon casting, your next light attack becomes one charge of Power Overload. If the cast is a killing blow, the light attack is instead one charge of Energy Overload.
Crystal Weapon should be changed into a buff called Crystal Focus - Gain Major Prophecy and Savagery for 30 sec. While active, Magic, Fire, and Ice Status Effects will activate the Blood Magic heal passive with a 2 sec cd. Physical, Poison and Shock Status Effects will turn the Blood Magic heal into Bleed Damage for 4 seconds with a 4 sec cd per target.
Crystal Fragments should be a channeled magicka spammable for Mag Sorc. On hit, provides a heal of Blood Magic, and the same amount as damage upon impact. Every stam and mag ability has a 33% to make the next Crystal Fragments instant-cast, deal 66% more damage, and cost 50% less.
Daedric Prey should be a stamina DoT that ticks every 2 seconds, and applies Major Fracture to anyone afflicted or damaged by the curse
Haunting Curse should be strictly single target but spread to anyone who stands too close to the Haunted target. 10 sec internal cooldown if afflicted by the radius aura.1
