Nightblade madness

Who in the world comes up with these class balancing changes? I'm referring to PvP here, but this is an oversight even blind PvErs have to see.

stamblade is toptier in the last patches and has ouperformed magblade for years now.

What to do?
- add 100% critchance to an insanly overloaded stamina class spammable
- further lock magicka playstyles into a hide and seek gamemode by making buffs tied to shadow cloak
- nerfs to lotus fan vs. ambush providing 3 minor buffs
- no changes to sap essence vs power extraction providing 2 minor (de)buffs
- add insanly strong roll cost reduction to blur which guess which spec benefits from
- EDIT: killers blade now got a 50% scaling mechanic while mag morph doesn’t, fixing the biggest issue with said skill for only stam specs again.

There's objectively not a single reason to play a magblade in this game, and the changes to this class this patch are beyond me.

Where is the tanky life draining spec I fell in love in during beta???

Brace yourself for the incoming (stamina) godblades next patch. I'm out.

btw they did throw a bone with the dark cloak changes, have to see how it turns out but guess this will be one of the strongest hots in the game now given the other nerfs.

Doesn't matter for magblades though since concealed and dark cloak don't work with one another LMAO

I remember all the complaints many moons ago how this class was trash and how squishy we were in Cyrodiil, but dammit I refused to give up the NB lifestyle.

    you forgot this:

    Killer's Blade (morph):
This morph now causes the execute scaling to change to a linear increase of up to 400% damage done to targets under 50% Health, rather than the static 300% damage done to targets below 25% Health.
The heal from this morph now scales off of your highest offensive stats, rather than Max Health.

Well, It is weird that they buffed skill that no one expected them to buff. What is also weird is that there is no buff to Consuming Darkness ult - probably worst ultimate (or one of the worst) in the entire game.

Oh well, I will take what I can. After hybridization changes it kinda does not matter if skill you are using costs magicka or stamina. The difference is what resource is being used, but the damage is identical.

They clearly want NBs to be played more. Veild Strike is not as good as DK's Corrosive armour, but, since DK can have an ability that ignores armour, then I guess NBs can have a skill with guaranteed crit, if positioned correctly.

Also, I have a Stam & Mag NB and I am honestly thinning of using Concealed Weapon on my stam nb. Passive Minor Expedition is just too good to ignore.

But, I will give them huge credit for finally looking at NB fear. It will be finally worth slotting again, even over Turn Evil. And did you seen how Manifestation of Terror now works ? It is an AOE projectile. That fears instantly it lands. LOL <3

It is one of the best updates for NB since like um... idk when was the last decent patch for NB. The class may even finally recover after Elsweyr update that gutted most of NB toolkit....

I'm glad they're trying to let NB do more than just Caluurion's gank. They still need to get rid of the cast times and delays on the ults, gap closer, and spectral bow. Landing these abilities takes extremely precise timing to overcome the artificially induced lag, putting the class out of reach for most players, who will only be able to spam Surprise (or Snipe lol).

Night blades were already top tier High A or S in PVP. They will be even more so after the next patch. Night blades did not need a buff at all.

You think these buffs will stop people from wearing caluurion? You get huge dodge cost reduction and guranteed crits on suprise attacks. If anything you can cram even more damage out now without sacraficing anything.

Spam is still dodgeable, blockable and require positioning..

Tbh the only offensively OP buff here is the guaranteed crit on surprise attack, it’s already way overtuned, there’s really just no reason to add this.

I'm willing to bet Dark Cloak NB brawler is gonna be the meta fad of U35 like Bow Sorc was this last patch.

Caluurions appears to have its damage nerfed and it’s proc timer cut in half on pts, shadow nerfed. :)

They’re one of the strongest specs in pvp as is. Fight not going your way? Cloak away. Toxic barrage bow gank and cloak away. Caluurions and spin to win gank and cloak away.

Maybe it’s not the best brawler, but it’s top tier everything else. If you don’t feel that way, then you need to look up some YouTube builds or something, but it’s not the class that’s bad at this point.

The Surprise Attack change is insane. Oakensoul goes. Never mind, all we need to do is to spec into all crit damage and be reasonably fast to position ourselves right. At the very least we can blow the guaranteed out of cloak crit on the Caluurion light attack, knowing full well Surprise Attack will also crit. How on earth do ZOS think this will go?

I first heard about the Concealed change. I thought OK, it's catching up to Surprise Attack with the weapon damage. Nope. SA already has a flanking buff. Why does it need this as well? For what reason? Once we're back to two bar builds, Cloak belongs on the back bar. I've gone back and forth so many times. I always end up double-slotting something. Lately that's been Concealed. Once on the back bar for the speed. Once on the front bar, because a stun with spammable damage is just too good an attack to ignore. An old build variation split the damage between a melee bar and a destro bar. I ended up double-slotting Inner Light for the crit at the time. Same problem as ever. Having to slot Concealed on both bars to make a build that actually plays well has been a big, big drawback to that skill and yet they buff Surprise Attack as well, so it still pulls ahead. Inexplicable.
