Maintenance for the week of January 13:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – January 13
The maintenance is complete, and the PTS is now back online and patch 10.3.0 is available.

Dear ZoS... are you trying to kill the game? Because these patch notes make it seem like you are.

I just started playing in January and have been progressing into the more difficult content of the game; have cleared Flawless Conquerer and Spirit Slayer, Crag and vMoL HMs; rest of vet trials except HoF and DSR; after reading these patch notes I'm probably just going to quit playing if these changes go live; not only will I not be able to continue my progression through the content; I will no longer be able to clear the content I just spent the last few months working through.

I believe that I am the type of player that you claim that you are trying to 'help' with these changes, but based on what I am reading; I am going to be hurt WAY more than the top tier players who are already running the end game content that I am trying to get into... PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!!!

It really honestly feels like they're trying to get every single veteran player to quit the game.

Oh and another thing... most of these dot changes sound like the engaging combat system that brought me into this game is going to be changed into casting a few buffs and then hitting the same spammable 15 times... especially since many mechanics like boss movements and whatnot will mean that a lot of aoe/ground dots won't be worth casting, and even single target dots will be doing the same amount of damage as a spammable, just spread out over 20 seconds instead of all at once... why would we want to cast these at all now?

It does feel like a huge step back. My group has been working our way through DLC dungeon perfectas. It's pretty clear we're going to have a much harder time and some content will now be out of reach.

No one update is going to kill ESO, especially not when there's a steady stream of new players coming in who have no clue how it used to be to replaced dissatisfied veterans who are finally giving up.

*IF* there is a steady stream of new players... the way they are going, not only are veteran players going to be leaving the game, but they are going to be VERY unhappy as they do so; reviews for the game will tank and keep new people away... I certainly am going to leave negative reviews all over the place if they gut the game in the way it seems like they intend to :(

If the changes go live I'll still play the game but probably less often which means I will most definitely be canceling ESO plus.

    Pragmatic, but accurate.

If these changes go live, I'll cancel my ESO+ for the first time ever. They wont see any money from me any more. Those patchnotes are ridiculous.
I'm a diehard endgameplayer with over 11.000 hours on my clock but U35 makes me thinking

Some DOT durations are ridiculous... That's the main thing I don't like about the new rotations. OP, I don't think they are just trying to appease part of the playerbase, I think it's partly because of performance that they're doing this, and it's a pretty sad reason.

That change feels like they are testing the waters/slowly transitioning to a cooldown based system. And I hate that.

Currently, the Nightblade's melee spammable options are a bit behind other melee spammables in terms of both flavor and impact, so we're adjusting both morphs to give some love. Surprise Attack's morph option reinforces the need for positioning as an assassin and continues to add some minor damage with the Sundered proc, while Concealed Weapon retains its stealthy and agile emphasis with less restrictions and more reward for playing from the shadows.

Do be wary, there are more patches to be had over the weeks leading to the Dungeon DLC’s launch, it pays to hold out, because as somewhat disappointed as I am to see the wardens big fuzzy friend slightly neutered and the execution bonus increased on the eternal guardian, I reckon there may be some things we may be missing.
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

I’m beginning to think they want to turn ESO into a card game, so they are doing everything they can to drive away those of us who have stuck with them for all these years and remember when things were better.

Zos wanted more accessibility but it ends up with the opposite. People who currently hit 130k will still hit decent numbers after the nerfs but the average Joe who barely made their guild's dps requirement will be left out. Same with pugs ( that's what most of the playerbase is), pulling your hair when tanking vet dungeons? well, there will be even more sweating, toxicity, rage quiting and kicking. So much for accessibility.

I don't think they want to kill the game, it's basically a cash cow for them that they put minimal effort into.

However I just can't get over how much effort and time is wasted every patch fixing things that aren't broken and trying to overhaul basic combat over and over when they could be spending all that time just making small balance changes and actually bringing new skills to the game.
