One of the first houses I bought was the Khajiit one outside Rawl'kha. I believe it's medium-sized, and Rawl'kha has pretty convenient crafting stations.
Thanks for the suggestion. I know it's a popular choice and I'll have another look at it. I'm leaning toward Ravenhurst right now, since it's near a wayshrine without any guards around. My current quick port is the inn room in Rimmen and that meets my needs for most things.0
