Um, yes it is, deactivate autoloot, and only press R (pick up all) if it's actually useful to you. Nobody said don't look.nsuterryb14_ESO wrote: »"don't pick up food" is not an option. I'd be happiest I think If I could simply mail items to my crafter. Even with the maximum amount of space I can get, I still waste 30-45 minutes logging/relogging/crashing and such trying to get items moved over to him.
And yes, the amount of mats one has to have in the bank for crafting professions is pretty insane given the space allowed.

@Evandus the addon you need is called wykkyd's mail return bot, and you need a friend/guildmate who has it as well. you mail them the stuff with RETURN in the title and when they open their mail inventory it automatically returns it to you. Myself and 3 other guildies have it and use so we dont vendor our trait styles we need to research

I could not function without this addon, LOL.Sounds like there are two addons you need:
Research assistant lets you know if you have an item with traits already known, duplicates of items with the same trait and traits you don't know.

And advanced filters let you sort by material type, weapon type, armor type.

I'm absolutely thrilled with it. My inventory breaks, even with a spreadsheet of my research open on my second monitor, had been creeping up towards ten or even twenty minutes, depending on how many drops I'd found. It's not an exaggeration to say that with Research Assistant the length of my inventory sorting dropped by close to an order of magnitude.
It's brilliant, simple and unobtrusive enough that this kind of functionality might well belong in the default UI. Until then, though, at least it's an available tool.
I found it at esoui.com, fyi.
You may or may not be aware but ESO actually comes with advanced filters for Inventory. It is just not implemented in the graphical interface, only the programming interface (API).
It turns out that at least one addon author has taken advantage of the extra filters to do almost exactly what you are asking. The addon is called Advanced Filters and is available from ESOUI.com
Not resisting improvements, just pointing out that "don't pick up the Food" IS an option, not necessarily your best option but it is an option.nsuterryb14_ESO wrote: »So I move the time sorting to loot from "at the bank" to "standing in the middle of a dungeon". No thanks.
I'm not saying I can't manage my inventory, I'm just saying there should be improvements to it. I love when people resist logical improvements because ... why again are you resisting it?
