It seems to me that a very decent number of players prefer Ember over Isobel. I mean, I'm used to see much more Ember's "clones" than Isobel ones while I run High Isle and even other regions.
I'm trying to figure out why. So I ask you about your impressions about these two new companions.
Thanks any opinion.

I did both their quests and couldn't wait for the experience to be over. I feel a lot of the 'features' in this chapter are aimed at a particular demographic and I'm not part of it.
But all four companions get annoying for different reasons lol.

I'm trying to like Isobel, but as her name suggests, she's a bit of a flat drone. If only I could convince myself that "sweets" were a euphemism. I was surprised by her familiarity with "pawn" shops though, and buying something cheap and used for her step sister sent a message I was not expecting. Her tankiness is useful. I can see Isobel as a less grating replacement for Bastian in the role of depersonalised tank once she's levelled.
Mirri is still my favourite companion out of the four, and I think Bastion will forever remain my favourite for adverse narrative.
I will never understand Bastian hate and why people deem it so necessary to proclaim theirs
