Many of us want strong and good looking (Bastian isn't) and flirty male companions.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, same goes for character traits - it would be best to get a big variety of companions. I, personally, would find a flirty companion rather annoying, especially if it's a hyper-manly muscle guy.

Full disclosure: While I do have Blackwood, I have yet to even start any of the companion's questlines. So companions have yet to be unlocked for me.

So seeing all these interesting takes and opinions on companions is fascinating to me. All the opinions of how they walk, talk, interact, look, etc.

I'm too much of a loner solo player to have a companion by my side (besides, I'm more concerned about gearing myself up) but I do enjoy how the community reacts to them.

Yes, I would like to see an old, wise but caustically sarcastic companion (something like Abnur Tharn) sometime in the future.

Just wanted to highlight that the team is aware that players would also like more male companions. We have passed that feedback along for their consideration for future companions.

We'll also pass along the want for and older grumpy adventurer for consideration.

I'm still hoping that they let us customize companions with the cosmetics we have unlocked.

@ZOS_Kevin thanks for passing the feedback!

This one has a request which may sound peculiar…

For the older companions, can their wrinkles be consistent? It’d be really odd to have wizened face and then smooth, botoxed bodies. And also, a bit of gaunt, sagginess or mid-age spreads would be a nice touch of realism. This one always find it disturbing that Abnar Tharn is so buff, like he hangs out at the gym instead of sedantry wizardry stuff.

When Bastian was first released I also found him sort of...homely? My initial reaction was that he should have been more attractive, as an NPC I was intended to look at for long periods of time. But then two things happened as we traveled around Tamriel together - first, I decided that it actually wasn't necessary for companions to be attractive to me, because that's unfair to and limiting of character design variety (and is also shallow), and second, he grew on me. He really did. By the time I finished his questline I didn't think he was homely anymore (and once I saw those tattoos I rather thought the opposite), and I now have a Breton named Elora Hallix who really really wants to shoot her shot.

@ZOS_Kevin, is there any information you can give us on the intention or possibility of existing companions getting more content in the future? Or just pass it on to the team?

@SammyKhajit Are you on PC NA? I have many bananas I can donate to a Khajiit in need so that Isobel gets her fill of banana desserts and gains fondness for said Khajiit as a result.

This one thanks you and hope the moons blesses you with many happiness, @ectoplasmicninja alas this one is on PC EU

But this one has discovered that the Daggerfall docks have some free fruits lying around so the supply is good for now :D

Hey Sammy! Do you know about Monkey's Rest in Auridon? There's bananas inside in maybe 3 spots on the floor - and you can kill the monkeys outside and in for bananas too (not all monkeys will always have bananas, but at least with fair frequency; and that goes for any monkeys you see in any zone).

I really wish they'd adjust the combat range of Ember. She often attacks enemies from very far away, and ends up dragging one or more of them away from me, sometimes far enough for them to tether and reset. She also often dodge rolls when she doesnt need to or holds Block when no enemy is attacking her.

personally i love Ember. I do not dislike Isobel, i have her too but i have more fun with Ember. She is my healer for now, and resisted to multiples fights in the Vents and boss worlds.

For me, here how is see who is Ember

    - a very young one, still on the curve of learning and amazed at everything. Full of joy, yelling, laughing, and showing her desire to learn.

She is like a child in reality, who will laugh at nothing, exclaim her joy with funny ways. Yay this or Yay at that, or Yippee!! We are the best!! and much more of all the expressions given to Ember. And i noticed that for a same sentence, she can say it differently. As a child would do reacting to joy and sadness or happiness.

As for the voice, you can love it or not, but you should refrain to judge the person behind this. You can say you would have prefer something different or that you do not like it, but you can not judge who is behind.

She was asked to do it probably as she was feeling it, not as YOU were feeling it. And a voice and accent is very subjective. it depend of so much things the way someone talk and they way you hear it.

So for me its a huge thank you to the devs and the voice hidden behind Ember. I am even suprised when i laugh at some of her reactions. She is refreshing.

The monkey has this terrible death scene of screeching and spinning around which breaks Sammy’s heart :'(

You see, this one was brought up in a setting where it’s expected to kill and depose animals. It’s all part of livelihoods. For sure, monkeys are not for everyone and certainly pixelated monkeys there is no actual animal to be of concern but Sammy tries to avoid such reminders of childhood memories of “disposing” animals when he can.

Moving on from such heavy topic!

Isobel with her high sugar consumption is dangerously close to a root canal, when Will ZOS provide recipe to craft toothbrushes, Tamriel style?

I would love to have an 'Abnur Tharn' type of character... someone sarcastic and witty... loved the MSQ quests where we had Tharn as our NPC follower. However, not SO old that he becomes Gandalf's age... I don't need grandpa tagging along, I tend to use the Wild Hunt ring and wouldn't want him to lag behind. ;)

I would love to just have Abnur Tharn as a companion, haha. Can we do that? But yes, I really need some of that sarcastic, dry humour and comments. Overly positive companions get tiring eventually.

Would be hard to find anyone close to Gandalf's age who'd be willing be our companion though... We're talking 2000+ years just in his physical form, plus however long before and after that.

I find them both exceedingly annoying. I was considering using Ember with my more sneeky character but her childish personality and high pitched voice is far too irritating. I did both their quests and couldn't wait for the experience to be over. I feel a lot of the 'features' in this chapter are aimed at a particular demographic and I'm not part of it.

Yeah she's like an ADHD child that likes getting in trouble. She gets annoying. But all four companions get annoying for different reasons lol.

I find Isobel more enjoyable companion but I often forget to dismiss her before I go thieving.

Bonus for Isobel: She loves when I bring out one of my dog pets. I wonder if Ember loves bringing out cat pets?

You'll gain a small amount of rapport with Ember if you bring out the Big Eared Ginger Kitten.

For me, a sticky companion is one that resonates with my character and RP factor. I like Isobel not just because she's a templar (who doesn't want a pocket templar to bring into a fight?), but she also has an adventurous spirit. She started off wanting to become a knight and that is woven into her upbringing, but she's also found a new love for the undaunted and adventuring. Also, it's rare to get insight into Breton culture in ESO, so even a tidbit of it is nice to experience. And combat wise, she's the most survivable I've played with among the 4 companions.

Ember is interesting. I don't look to her as a typical RP companion to go on adventures with, but rather someone to bring comedic relief. In some ways, I get vibes of HK-47 with her. Her voice and character background just begs to cause mischief. However, there's no denying that the flashy graphics in this game comes from magical abilities. While Isobel has some flashy graphics and a mighty looking ultimate, having a dozen Embers unload their storm ultimate along with every other player mage triggering their unique destro staff ultimate creates an absolute nightmare scenario for any WB or group event. I've seen that a few times during volcanic vents and it's quite a godly sight to behold.

Both are great companions. I see Isobel as very young and child-like, still sheltered from the harsh truths of life, and very idealistic with strong beliefs on how she sees the world.

Ember is what I like to call Pure Chaos. She grew up in a tough place, and that is reflected on her personality. Also
After your rapport gets high enough, she doesn't care about you BoWing NPCs.

All in all, I really love what the writing team has done for both of these characters. They were both VERY well done, and very fun to have as companions.

Different people have different view on what is beautiful and what is not. Personally I would prefer not to see faces from the topic for more that a "give me a quest and disappear" moment.
Which leads to the point - no companion will please everyone... and any companion (and an npc) will always be an ugly irritating face for at least someone :)
