While I agree that the sentence OP brings up is misleading, what ESO releases in a year is more than what FF14 and WoW release averaged out to a year.
In fact, ESO surpasses FF14 easily as FF14 has only released 5 expansions/DLCs and is slightly older than ESO. That is
not even one every two years. WoW is not much better than that.
ESO wins
Nah. That's why ESO's storylines are generic, repetitive, and stale cause they churning them out every year. FFXIV has more complex and in-depth characters and storyline.

Ah yea, that's why XIVs ARR campaign is well regarded as one of the worst slogs in MMO history?
And the rest of the games story is about as good as a bottom of the barrel JRPG from 1999, that somehow despite being one of the biggest MMOs on the market, can't afford voice actors for most of their story content.
Sure, totally surpasses the fully professionally voice acted, hours upon hours of story content that ESO puts out. Not little fetch quests to waste your time for 30+ hours like XIV does to pad out it's expansions. Actual story content with a purpose and characters that develop.
Yea, this totally isn't a blatant XIV ad.

Actually FFXIV story is now regarded as the BEST JRPG Story ever made and i must say the Endwalker campaign was such an epic ride, it lasted soo long and that ending 2 boss fights were beyond F insane and then the long ass cutscene to end it all was beyond words. eso has yet to make a story in game that has brought so much joy, emotion and epic feeling. very few games i played have. they know how to make epic in ff.
ESO story is more like quests, it's never made he shout omg that was epic asf or feel sad when a main char dies or the feeling you get for the main enemy when you learn their past etc.

I found FF14 quests more like something that is confused about what it wants to be. While I have not seen the last expansion, much of their best quests are half cut scene and half reading a book.
Regardless, as for value ESO wins by a large margin. FF14 not only makes you but the expansion but also forced you to pay a full subscription to enjoy it.
I don’t regret coming to o ESO from FF14. Have never looked back.

Ah yea, that's why XIVs ARR campaign is openly regarded as one of the worst slogs in MMO history? Like so bad Square had to cut down the quest and it's STILL over 200+ quests just to do the ARR patch content into HW. Wow so much amazing story in those horrible fetch quests that rob you of hours upon hours of meaningful gameplay.
And the rest of the games story is about as good as a bottom of the barrel JRPG from 1999, that somehow despite being one of the biggest MMOs on the market, can't afford voice actors for most of their story content. 2022, XIV has surpassed WoW, and we're still reading the same text boxes from FF1? Amazing.
