Gap closer spamming

Gap closers are a good part of the game, and in fact are buggy as hell in their current form.

What is the advantage in just allowing people to disengage from any fight because gap closers have been nerfed in the way you suggest?

Why do we want a meta where its easier to flee?

This isnt a meta, I’m simply stating that gap closer should have a higher cost when spamming them. If I’m in a situation where I’m getting gap closed by 3 different people at once, with 7 more running behind them, what should I do to counter that?

Most of the gap closers have very meaningful costs associated with them already. The builds that use gap closers by definition tend to need them to stay in contact with enemies.

The thing you should do to counter that is not end up in that situation in the first place. 1v10 is not a winning scenario.

Yes, you cannot escape every death. If 10 people are chasing you and 3 templars topple spamming, it might be time to just open your map and start thinking about where you want to respawn. Alternately you can run in a tower and waste everyone's time for 20 minutes. Then respawn.

Man, I’m gonna assume with all of these comments none of you pvp solo or in a small group 😂

You assume wrong. I'd expect to lose a good deal of my 1 v X encounters so I build for that very situation, I can still take resources and hold my own if I get caught but against superior numbers it is unreasonable to think I/anyone would survive. I've witnessed players taking on and giving 6/8 players the run around for a considerable amount of time but it usually ends in death. I would add a stamina cost to jumping so the wallaby's and kangaroo's don't feel left out. Gap closers are fine and if I run from a group of enemy players I expect to be caught and killed. What if they are all wearing swift jewellery plus the ring of the wild hunt and can simply just out run me so no gap closer is needed, Do we then nerf those too because folk cannot escape. You could always use swift and rotwh, pop major expedition and flee the scene with an invis pot. They would have to be pretty lucky to catch you then. Or roll a NB vamp and just escape with total ease. I'd try changing your build to deal specifically with the situation.

Winning against multiple good players should be impossible? Since when do you win a fight if you run away? Normally you are loosing a fight if you run away. And if winning a fight against a Zerg should be impossible you should still be forced to fight them? Because usually it is not the outnumbered side that wants the fight and attacks first. Often it is already too late to run away when you see the enemy. What more can you do to avoid a fight than running away as soon as you see them?
Except for fighting hit and run builds gap closers are almost only used by Zerglings to chase solo players that are running/riding away from them because they are outnumbered. I only use gap closer to catch Zerglings stealing andescorting our scrolls to their home keeps.
In eso escaping a group is much more difficult than in real life. In real life if you get chased by 10 people you can run/ride away if you are fast enaugh, but if you try to run circles around a building someone will come from the other side and block your way.
In eso if you try to run away on open field you get killed by auto aimed gap closers and range skills but if you run circles around a tower/tree and dont get hit by most attacks and still keep attacking and provocating.

Well that is the design around nb. Some classes are designed to be brawlers (dk, templar) while others kits to allow for higher mobility

Then don't run. Or I will chase you like a maniac with my charge and talons.

Most fights are already decided before they start, Why should you stay and fight if you can’t win a fight, especially if it is because they outnumbered you?

If a group attacks me on sight unprovocated althought I dont want to fight them, I dont know why I should do them a favor. They dont deserve killing me because it is an unfair fight.
It is their own fault if they chase me for 20 minutes without any need just to kill and humiliate me. Otherwise they would have used the time to zerg other players down.
And if a Tower Troll attacks and harrasses a group, wasting their time is exactly what he wants.
