What dummies should a guildhall have?

One thing a guildhall owner needs to consider is what training dummies to provide. The Iron Atronach appears to be the standard for parses if you want to do Trials, but which of the large number of others should also be available?

I suspect there would be several alternatives for each use, So the question is is much how many types do we need?

Iron attro. All other just for novelty/fun reasons (ie: decoration of the house), or possibly a test area for aoe setups when you have like 5-6 of the same smaller ones close to each other, but for actual parsing and checking dps you want iron attro, if a big guild then probably more than one...

I think the Iron Atronach is the only one that is really required, ideally in multiples if you can do it. For giggles, I set up a separate house with 200 of the standard dummy all stacked together. I may raise that up to the full 700 at some point just for the silliness of it all. It's not necessary to have that at a guild house for parsing purposes though. I used EHT portals to connect them so it feels a bit more cohesive.

I have many different ones, including a stage with a clump of regular skeleton dummies for AoE testing (Azureblight is fun!) but mostly people just use the Iron Atro. I picked up a Harrowing Reaper too which is just like the iron atro when it was available and I have both in the house now because every now and then someone would make a remark that the one was often occupied. When the Aetherial Well came out I bought two of them and put one next to each for ultimate recharge

I would say Iron atro for trials/standardised parsing, precursor for pre-building stacks (or listening to him complain) and a skeleton for solo/unbuffed testing

I have the reaper in my house (not a guild hall) and it's 99% of what gets used.
The precursor used to be used for ult generation but has been replaced with the well.
I've been with a couple of groups that used one of the large centurion dummies to get a clean ideal measure of buffs etc in a particular full group composition, but I think currently most leads will just read that out from logs between raid days.

Any of the trial dummies. The rest are a waste, but honestly any dummy is a waste.

Living DPS is better than dead dps. To many times people just start trying to parse in trials are having to be rezzed ever time a skill goes off. Give me a group of aware 70k DDs over a group of running around dying 100k dds anyday. I don't care if the fights take an extra around between a phase. It's just more enjoyable than having to scramble around to rez people all the time.

I can't speak to what a good guildhall-type house should have, but I can speak to what I want to make sure any guildhall I make has.

-All the skeletal dummies, for testing on low level resistances and because skeletons are flavorful.
-At least one vet dungeon level dummy (ie. mournful aegis).
-At least one trial level dummy (ie iron atronach).
-The dummy that vampires can feed on to increase their vampire stage (because vampires deserve love too).

The trial dummy is standard, but the parses are wildly higher than with a different dummy, and vet dungeons are probably the most common content that is run at a high level, considering how annoying it is to gather a group of 12 players for most people. Even then though, I think it is important to have a variety of resistances to go up against, because it can be useful to test how good you are against certain types of content.

The PVP dummy is also useful, but I think PVPers should all suffer, so I left it off the list.

Massive stack of precursors. I’m currently at 15 it’s great for aoe/trash testing. Might get a few more to round it up to 20.

The Precursor can be handy for solving Endeavors that require killing something in a specific way. I have 18 of them in my home, which is open access for my guild.

Sorry, I consider the precursor dummy a bit of a PVP dummy, as it doesn't have specific resistance numbers like dungeon tier dummies, and has lower health so doesn't worry about sustain as much, just like in PVP. I always forget the names of items so sometimes I revert to whatever random stuff I call things in my head lol.

I wish templar rez speed was a universal passive you could take for trials - it would help endgame tremendously. A dead dps does no dps *but* a lot of trials absolutely punish low DPS groups. For example, Hel Ra's final boss becomes absolutely brutal when a group's dps is low. I think it's one of the stranger game quirks that low dps is so penalized (and by much more than it just taking longer) but that's why a lot of people emphasize high parses. And tbh, a group of 70k dds is still a high flying group in terms of damage. Most vet groups don't have a 70k average even if they have a 70k average dummy parse.

I think the real problem is that learning to parse on a dummy is a different thing altogether from learning a trial. Parsing should be for a player to work out his/her rotation and get good at it. Practice it until it's automatic and then practice it until you hit your light attacks as much as possible but there's no real substitute for experience and you can only get that by actually running the trial. Too many groups put up barriers to entry where all their guild members spend time parsing in the hopes they'll be able to qualify to run a trial when they'd be better off simply running the trials, especially the Crag trials.

And some trials, like vCR, there's just no getting around the fact that at some point you have to run the thing to get the experience you need to beat the thing. And those experience runs can't be replicated any other way. You've got to get used to where things are going to be and what's happening when and the only way to do that is to experience it. (Your dps goes up a ton in that trial once you realize and can anticipate where Z'Maja is going to be and staying alive becomes tons easier when you've got your bearings and know the trial).
