I know recently the cap for transmutes was risen from 200 to 1000, however many of us players have exceeded the 1000 cap by playing dungeons, battlegrounds and PVP campaigns. Many players have uncracked crystals in their inventory waiting for an opportunity to spend them by making possible armor/equipment. But not many of us do not to need to recreate new equipment as often. So, the balance of crystals just keep building. I'm not sure why there needs to be a cap on these, but it is what it is and that's the current rule.
My idea is, to be able to use these crystals to "transmute" other items. As a crafter and harvester, I have thousands of stacks of various materials. Perhaps transmute crystals can be used to transmute these materials into 'hard to get' or 'rare' items. For example, 'X' number of crystals with an 'X' number of 'raw material' can be transmuted into a 'slaughterstone' for example.
Does anyone have any thoughts about this? Pro's or Con's?
You can make money off of excess crystals. My idea is, to be able to use these crystals to "transmute" other items. As a crafter and harvester, I have thousands of stacks of various materials. At the transmutation station, you may spend 100 transmutation crystals to change any set piece bonus to another bonus of your choosing, except for the final set piece bonus of a set. Only one reforge is permitted per set.
Example: Archer's Mind set
(2 items) Adds 1096 Maximum Stamina
(3 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(4 items) Adds 657 Critical Chance
(5 items) Increases your Critical Damage and Healing by 8%. Increases your Critical Damage and Healing by an additional 16% when you are Sneaking or Invisible.
You may reforge any of the 2-4 slot bonuses, but not the fifth slot bonus. So you could reforge the stamina bonus into a third crit chance bonus.
Monster sets, you may reforge the one slot bonus but not the two slot bonus. Mythics and weapon sets can not be reforged since they only have one slot.

I don't understand why there's a cap on a currency like transmutes. We don't have a cap on gold and transmutes are a reward like gold so uncap the transmute bank. I also agree with other posts stating additional uses such as companion gear (should also be able to be upgraded with normal weapon/armor crafting skills) should be added.
