Trial By Fire Set and Element Specific Resistances Question

Does anybody know what is fully encompassed in "elemental damage" for Trial By Fire? I know that may sound basic but...Does it include poison or disease resistances? I ask because in enchanting we can make the resistance runes to poison/disease so it makes me think it might work that way.
Also, in the case of element specific resistances, do elemental resist stack into spell resists? As in, if I have 7k fire resistance and capped spell resistance and I get hit, do I get hit as if I just had capped resistances or would the additional fire resistance help to further mitigate damage?

SirMewser✭✭✭✭✭Elemental damage/resistance includes; fire, shock, frost, daedric, and magic damage.
Sets that say they have a benefit to elemental damage/resistance exclude daedric and magic damage unless stated otherwise.
Whereas magic damage/resistance is more universal.
Poison and disease is considered "Physical" which really means "Natural".

✭Elemental damage types are:
Fire, Lightning and Ice.
Those are all magical types of damage unlike poison and disease which are physical.
Since Spell resistance helps against ALL magical types of damage (the 3 elemental plus magic damage), I would assume if you have capped Spell resistance, that adding Fire resistance to it would not be beneficial.
I have not tested it though, it might not be so.5 -

✭When hit by an elemental attack your resistance to that attack is your spell resistance + your elemental resistance to that specific element. So having spell resist capped makes elemental resistance obsolete in PvE, in PvP it still works to counteract penetration, but you are most likely better off investing your slots in something else, which is more universally useful.Jo'Khaljor5

spell resist or physical resist are different from individual element resists
i believe the in game advanced stats may show it, but thats still annoying to monitor those with short duration buffsplays PC/NA
