Ultimate keeps reseting to 0% at random times.

Not sure if I'm the only one who has been encountering this since launch but it has gotten to the point when I no longer can tolerate it.
As the title states, from time to time, my ultimate skill will reset back to 0% for no reason. This has made it difficult especially when I have a 100% ultimate that I saved up earlier for certain situations only to hit R and find out that its at 0% or at least not at a proper percentage to use the skill.
I'm not sure whether this is a bug or whether its part of the game's mechanics. Anyone else has the same issue?

It happened to me several times that I cast my ult and it just do nothing and it goes in CD. I can't remember the exact name of the spell, but it's the templar nova thing.0

Dalexx✭✭✭Seems like anytime I collect a Skyshard mine resets, maybe whenever I get a skill point. I haven't paid that much attention, other than it alway seems to reset, right before I really need it.1 -

tangorn✭✭Totally dumb question, but is it not supposed to expire? I have a vague memory that that is how these "accumulate and use" skills worked in the first GW. It is like battle rage, you accumulate it, but if you stop fighting it wears off... So I kind of assumed it is the same in ESO...0 -
NyteJade✭✭✭Same here. I'm not sure if it's supposed to expire or not, but like someone else mentioned, it takes so much Ult power to use your WW transformation that it takes forever to build up. If it is supposed to expire, then let us WW's have the ability (via skill point) to extend the life of accumulated Ult points, or lower the cost of transformation a little.0 -

JumboWheat01✭✭✭I've come to the opinion that if you're not in combat for a certain length of time, it drains right down. I've noticed it a lot on my Dunmer, where if I take a break from fighting to say, gather some nodes and the like, when I get back into fighting, it'll be empty.
Not sure if that's the same problem you all have been facing, but that's what I've experienced so far.Echoes from the west, great hammers will fall...

Harbingers✭✭✭✭✭It is intended, its a failsafe so players cant just go walking around with full ult all the time.
After a certain time out of combat it degrades to zero. Or a certain amount of time where a generation skill is not used
There are plenty of ways around it such as that Earthen Heart passive coupled Molten Weapons or Prism(If it freaking worked), Healing a player that has taken a little bit of damage enough to gain at least one(1) ult.

Yep, I did the same thing. I mapped it to "6" though, since I have a split keyboard that has a break in between 5 and 6. I thought I was hitting "R" whenever I was scrolling through my quests "T" or interacting with NPC's/Looting "E" since it's in the middle of those buttons. Also, I'm used to having "R" for reply to tells. I noticed I still lost Ultimate. I'll have to try to pay attention to see if I lose it when interacting with a stone or skyshard.

Musashi_XSoul ShrivenDegradation is too high if you ask me. I've been knee deep in combat seeing my Ult. charged, then walk into the next room of the dungeon only to have my ult drop to 0% before I can use it. This is not degradation, it's detonation. It should be a slow process, but ultimate resets to 0 instantly. This mechanic is clearly broken.
This is especially devastating for WW Transformation, as it requires such a massive amount of ultimate to activate. And to be frank, WW takes a lot of effort to be even slightly more useful than any 250 pt. Ultimate.
My vote: let everyone run around with their fully charged ultimate, or drop the damn WW transformation to 250 Ultimate and let us level up that skill line at an appropriate pace. We are already spending many skill points to make it even slightly more useful than any vanilla ultimate, so why punish us for pursuing this skill line by making it damn near impossible to transform?
If you are trying to make it difficult for characters under the "appropriate" level to rank the WW skill line up, then adjust the ultimate needed for transformation to depend on character level. I.e. Too low level requires 1000 ultimate to activate, but above said "appropriate" level, activation only requires 250 ultimate.
This is a frustrating mechanic, and seriously needs reviewing. Not unlike the current non-instanced boss fights/spawn campers ad nauseum.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭I see the loss of my ultimate points often throughout an evening of game play. Major breaks to such significant mechanics need to be fixed promptly. I guess the questing is where in the line of the numerous broken quests, other mechanics and such does this fall. I like the game, except when frustration fills the frame, which seems to be every few minutes.
@Musashi_X it functions as I have seen it do in similar games with respect to charging faster at higher levels. Probably a good thing as some players probably benefit from being reliant on normal skills early on.0 -

Blackwolfe5✭✭✭The way it has always worked for Deathstroke on my NB (bear in mind I've only played for almost two weeks) is that after a certain amount of time it would reset so that it would be usable. Still did when I checked last night. However, I decided to try out Soul shred and was confused, beacuse soul shred seems to reset to 0% after a certain amount of time out of combat.0 -
This happens to me all the time and it's really annoying. It wasn't so bad before, but now as I'm using werewolf skills it's really bad. I had it almost charged, went to Riften to sell some stuff. Then back out only to find my ultimate skill had dropped to nothing. WTF! So I had to spend ages charging it again. Come on! I've noticed it drops off sometimes right before a boss in a dungeon - really useful.0
