Way to unlock cursor from toon?

Hi. I'm taking advantage of ESO's free weekend.
I've played other MMO's like WoW, SWTOR, STO, and DAoC.
I'm wondering if there's a way to unlock the cursor from the toon. For instance, clicking on a mob, another player, or a node to learn something about it, without actually going up to it.

✭✭✭✭✭The normal keybind for unlocking the mouse from the camera is the period button [.]0 -

✭✭✭✭✭to clarify what VaranisArano is suggesting is that using the period will just enable mouse mode, but you will not be able to use your mouse to "interact" with the game world
there is no "right click on player to inspect" or "left click on mob to target" it
going into mouse mode makes it easier to move around UI elements or chat, but is not used for any kind of interaction with elements in the game world
you would have to use the normal "reticle" in order to actually target something to see information (if enemy their health and such), or for interaction with material nodes0
