Would you like companions to not lose rapport once their questlines are finished?

Hi everyone. please if possible comment.

Currently companions just doesn't feel worth using for many.
We either can't use blade of woe (content we paid for) to kill enemies (not innocent npcs) or we get negative rapport over small things that sometimes are out of our control.

A possible fix would be to have rapport stop decreasing when the companions quest lines are finished. ( quest-lines require rapport to be maxed to be completed)
this would be even better if it was a option where we turn off or on negative rapport gain and possibly companions voicelines where they complain about what we do.

I for one don't use bastian because i can't stand the way he treats me when i do small mistakes like killing a small animals in the middle of a fight. With this option i could focus on maxing out the companion and than use them freely.

There is a 500 point buffer at max rapport and most negative numbers are rather small and have long CDs on being rewarded. I wouldn't say no to a lock, but I don't really see it as being needed. If you are doing a bunch of BoW content there isn't really a need to even have a companion out. Not everything they comment negatively on is a rapport loss either.

Also please, please let me use blade of woe on enemies when isobel is nearby. I was looking forward to this companion so much and her being a bastian 2.0 is breaking my heart.

You may have missed my response to your question in my thread, but neither Isobel nor Ember have a problem with using the Blade of Woe on red-outlined enemies. (And Isobel's reaction to murdering innocent NPCs is the same whether you use the BoW or not.)

As far as your topic here, once I get the companions' rapport maxed out, I don't really need to care about incidental decreases from things like stealing. Those decreases are negligible compared to what it would take to downgrade the companion relationship, and I can always take Bastian to Wayrest to visit Eyevea if I feel like I want to make it up to him for my bad behavior.

I believe that companion rapport should either be account-wide, or be MUCH easier to increase - like, not having to do a solid month of mages guild daily quests (Bastian) or fighters guild dailies (Mirri) with EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. It was less annoying when you still had to do 30 of them with all characters to get the achievement separately, but since achievements have gone global, then so should rapport - especially since companion skill is already global.

Not in the "add it all together so it reaches a value that none of the individual characters have reached on their own" sense that was applied to, for instance, cumulative monster kills, or cumulative dolmens demolished, or cumulative mages guild daily quests completed: but set it to the highest value of all characters in the account, and thereafter use it as a global figure.

Yes, this will mean that many people will simply have the rapport insta-maxed on all characters because it's currently maxed on one. So what? All this gets them, is the ability to do their rapport quests immediately, minus most of the rewards except experience (since the rewards are account-wide mementos and unlockables).

ALTERNATIVELY: Don't tie their Rapport to actual Mages and Fighters Guild daily quests (which are already necessary to increase their global skill level in the guild skills), tie it to doing Public Dungeons (Bastian) and Dolmens / Geysers / Harrowstorms (Mirri).

First Public Dungeon Group Event of the day completed with Bastian = 125 rep, ANY public dungeon. Double if it is a previously unexplored one.

First Dolmen / Harrowstorm / Abyssal Geyser of the day completed with Mirri = 125 rep, ANY of these. Double if it's a previously uncompleted one.

Perhaps Ember can enjoy doing Heists and Sacraments. 125 rep for the first of either done in a day, and make the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood DLCs free and thus part of the base game. (as has been done with Imperial City and now Morrowind). After all, there are some CPs (part of the base game) that rely on the Blade of Woe - which can only be obtained with a DLC?

And maybe Isabel can enjoy slaying World Bosses (and count Dragons and Havocrels as World Bosses for this purpose)... first one in a day, ANY one = 125 rep.

Also, those companions who complain at Blade of Woe, should not complain if used on a *red* target (one that is always an enemy, a bandit, a skeleton, a worm cultist, whatever). On the other hand, they should certainly complain - and lose rapport - if you use it on a neutral.

My companions don't suddenly forgive me for doing things they don't like once they are close friends with me. Also, the amount of rapport you lose for most actions is miniscule compared to what you gain from their preferred favorite activity. Go fetch bugs for an hour with Mirri, then run one Fighter's Guild daily and she'll forget the whole thing ever happened.

I really don't think I like the idea of just going on murder sprees and having Bastian or Mirri gleefully joining in with no consequences just as a reward for maxing them out.

Part of the fun of having a companion is that they act like a real person to a degree.

The feeling of them sort of being a real person to a degree goes away when they don't have thoughts of their own.

You might also want to keep in mind the Blade of Woe is thought to not just kill someone but, it also sends their soul to the void and it's associated with the Dark Brotherhood. Lots of people aren't going to be cool with that.

Yeah, sometimes it's annoying and some of my characters don't run certain/any companions because of how they behave but, it's also a big part of their appeal.
