Since achievements are account wide, why not recipes, motifs, and furniture plans

It would definitely take the sting off of my low level alt accidentally learning all those purple furniture recipes this year because you guys still can't fix a consistent inventory organization and me needing to open 7 boxes on 18 characters.

Just a suggestion.

My guess is that it's technically very difficult. Some players have different motifs, recipes, and crafting levels on different characters.

Choosing only one character as the "master" that all others inherit would erase a lot of your progress. Merging all the levels and unlocks of all characters would be better, but also a lot harder to implement without it becoming a buggy mess.

Why not just make the whole game account-wide - levels, skills, class and race, xp, the lot? For many players the whole point of playing more than one character has just been trashed through a combination of a switch in the way characters have been played for 8 years and a bugged and messy implementation of it, please don't ask for even more trivialisation!

I don't want recipes to be account-wide. I enjoy collecting recipes on different characters.

While you're at it, don't forget crafting research. You need it for master writs and even more importantly transmutation stations.

To be perfectly honest, I wouldnt really mind if they did make it all account wide. Im not sure how my characters can be a Flawless Conqueror at level 3 because the "player" did it, not the character, yet that same character cant make a wooden table because they havent learned how yet. I think its already trivial now.

We are close to 2000 plans and have over 100 motifs to collect (most of which requiring multiple epic rarity pages). With these numbers, most people put the recipes on one crafting character because it’s easier to keep track of them this way and most player will end up using this character when they want to craft something as it can craft everything anyway. I also doubt that most people get to the point where they can actually craft everything on one character and that they feel like the only thing left for them to do is to teach every recipes to their other characters. Tbh, I don’t think most players experience would be ruined by making this account wide.

By the same token, given the scale of these things, I don't think most players would experience fully what it is claimed would be enhanced by making this account-wide either.

I hate to say that it could be profit-motivated, but it could be profit-motivated. Motifs are sold in the crown store, whereas achievements are not. I doubt that'd be the only reason, but it's possibly one reason.

I would think it's technically possible though, considering how outfit stations allow use of styles learned on other characters.

Yes, I agree, most people wouldn’t be really affected by this either way.

When they would, it would probably only be to not have to log in and out of characters to find out if they can craft something, to teach a recipe to an alt or to craft something. Still, I think that’s nice, login in and out of characters breaks immersion and interrupts gameplay.

I also think, and I understand that people are tired of this argument, that it would probably reduce the amount of server information which might be good for the technical side of things. Then again, we got problems when they made awa.
