I’m not arguing against it, but why there specifically? You can go to the ZOS website and buy the game if you don’t want to deal with Steam.

There's currently a bit of an issue with ESO (Microsoft, in fact) and Steam purchases in certain regions, but EGS basically enabled purchases for me in another game, so I wouldn't mind to see ESO there.
The thing is, that another game didn't block purchases on their website while ESO did. I don't think we'll get any official workarounds =(

Sounds like Gambling Crown Crates are banned in your region and you want a "workaround".

No, [snip] Visa/Mastercard are off for international purchases for us too, so we can't buy crowns, or sub, or the new chapter neither in Steam (unless some dark region-changing magic gets involved), nor on the website. Don't know how it is for consoles though.

Okay, so what makes you think that this would be any different on the Epic Game Store? Is the region changing magic easier there? If your payment method doesn't work anymore, then that will still be the case with the Epic Game Store, no? Not sure how or why EGS would be working then.
