I'm destroying the parts. They're pointless and a waste of space.

Pro Tip given to me: Copy the word "DESTROY" and keep it on your clipboard. 30 to 50% of the boxes have parts X 18 characters. It's a time saver!

They stack and there's only three parts. Shove them all into your bank, and when the event is over, only type Destroy 3 times to get rid of all of them.

(or, if you're on PC, send them all to your Junk tab, then hit "X" once to destroy all Junk. Never have to type Destroy at all.)

This is probably something we won't get any response about until well after the fact, or some vague "we hear the problem and will pass it on" only to never hear about it again. It just doesn't make sense though.

They had this problem with Companion pages dropping way too often so they moved them to the grab bags. Now we have the Firepot Spider dropping way too often. Instead of these pieces replacing the new Style pages, why couldn't the Firepot pieces go into the Fragments tab and the Saberkeel pages just have their drop rate lowered so you have a chance at getting more than one a day, but not get flooded with them?

They had the problem with Hollowjack when they moved it to grab bag only that people couldn't effectively get it. Now they're doing the exact same thing with Worm Cult, instead of using the fix for it they did for Hollowjack.

It really feels like ZOS either a) isn't learning from their mistakes or b) is trying to get us into the CS.

One of the most frustrating things about this is that people hated having nothing to spend tickets on beyond group repair kits. And now ZOS give us things to spend tickets on and ... they are the stuff that you used to get just from doing the events.

You used to get style pages and pet pieces and memento pieces at a reasonable drop rate just from consistently doing the event. Now they are artificially creating scarcity via horrible drop rates and daily limits, adding artificial barriers (like the 5 tickets to "combine" the spider pet), and patting themselves on the back that people are not spending tickets on group repair kits.

We wanted new, cool types of stuff to buy from event vendor. Not pushing previously free event items into an annoying grind that can be bypassed by spending/buying event tickets.

Because even at this apparently high rate, we have people posting that they're opening 70+ boxes and not getting one.

(I got a page drop on my first character doing writs, both days so far. But I also had 2-3 pages in each Jester gold box, and got 6/7 Seed pages that way. So apparently my RNG isn't out to get me. Or it knows that I don't care that much, and that I've got plenty of tickets to use to buy any pages I miss, since I didn't want the skin or the mount. /shrug)

Make the first box of the day have a guaranteed drop of either this or the style page, then have the rest of the boxes have a 1/50 chance of dropping either. That way casual participants will get these things, and grinders will get a bunch to trade/sell but not an unbearable flood.

The Spider part drops should be a once day drop while that would still be to often IMHO. Players would have been OK with that and prices if you needed to get it from a trader would be very low after a few days.

They're already low - I was checking on Spider Eggs, and just put in "spider"; on PC EU in Vivec they were only 250 g this morning, for all three pieces, and there were PAGES of them at not much more than that.

If zos was going to be actually helpful about this it would be:

One guaranteed drop of the armor style page / day with no repeats once you got that page until you got all the other pages for the set, then you could get extras to sell.

And the spider parts would stop dropping as soon as you assembled the pet.

The way they have it now: there is absolutely no reason to give players this many chance to earn the parts for this pet. It's purely in there as a mechanism to shut down RNG for the new style page. Perhaps they are counting on getting people to use tickets for it, or even better use crowns to buy extra tickets to get what they make it hard to get in the game. That is typically what games do, make something hard to achieve in game and sell the option to just buy it in their game store. I guess that mentality is just bleeding in to the events now (looking at the last few events and drop rates).

They should have at least had something else drop instead of the spider pet, maybe have it start dropping worm cult pages once you have the new style, etc.

So. It's been three days and I already have around 110 or so pieces for this thing. If this keeps up for the rest of the event I'll probably have somewhere around 400-450 pieces altogether.

For a Pet we only need 3 pieces of and can only combine once because that's how Pets work.

Is there any reason these things are dropping this often? I understand that with more boxes I open I'll get more parts, but they shouldn't be dropping on just about every character once or sometimes twice a day. You guys make these things drop like crazy, but the Saberkeel pages, which is what most people want, are locked to one a day, and it's not even a guaranteed drop. Oh, but wait, the Saberkeel pages are all available for tickets, and only one part of the Spider is.

Can you at least add a vendor price of 5g or something to the Spider pieces so they're worth something?

I suspect the idea is that if you only play say 1 character and not often that you'll at least get the spider pet.
Playing more frequently and grinding the event gets better rewards

Also, since they stack, you can just let them accumulate till the event ends, and delete the stacks.

You can also just move it to your junk inventory. And there is an option to delete everything in junk. No need to type anything.

The spider is actually ok as a furnishing, but I personally do not use pets. It would be nice if ZOS could release other furnishing recipes using spider parts.

Seven days in, and this isn't even all the pieces I have, as a couple of my characters have a few that I didn't bother depositing yet. Thank goodness these actually stack. Wonder how close to my initial prediction of around 400 (after getting around 100 after only 3 days) I'll get.

Has anyone been able to find the instructions? Here we are, several Events down the road and Philius still does not have them. Neither does the Empresario or anyone else. I'm tired of dragging these firepot parts around!
