I missed my battleground queue because I fell asleep

:( zzzZZZZZZZ When will BGs get a real MMR system that's visible and when will there be real overhauls to BGs objective gamemades that would warrant all players to actually partake in those game modes and when will the match finding system be supported by a real system that can find or replace players who disconnect or leave in a appropriate timely manner? Support your Battleground feature, don't let it slip into another system that nobody cares about. With these long horrendous long queue times Elder Scrolls Online is turning into Elder Snores Online, we're falling asleep here.
*goes back to bed* =_= zzzzzzzZZZZZZZ

if your on PC there are addons to auto-accept ready checks for queues lol, so you can go about doing other business and when it pops it pops

what i dont like about the default queue warning is it doesnt put the notification on screen if you are in combat, just in the notification menu, but you only have about 45 seconds to hit the ready check before it expires

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

The thread is about BG queues, not dungeons. That said, in all the iterations of the BG queue, for all it's faults and stumbles, I have never had a BG queue be 35 minutes long, even outside prime time. I've had solo dungeon queues that long, but not BG queues.

Did they remove the ability to go in with pre-mades like dungeons?

Bringing a pre-made group of 4 doesn't really help the bg queue go faster because it's still filling the other 8 slots. Depending on how the matchmaking works it might even go slower because it's looking for people in a narrowed mmr range to fill the match.

I was always told it was a lot faster for DDs going in as a pre-made with a tank and healer already in their group. I always run healer so I'm generally oblivious to ques, but my guilds DDs were amazed at the speed we used to get in.

That sounds like dungeons though? battlegrounds doesn't care if it throws 4 tanks or 4 healers or whatever together.

I just find it stupid that we can't see our MMR, it's just absurd.

i always forget that we even have an MMR system, its frankly not displayed anywhere lol, i just knew it was something on the backend

never noticed either because it always feels like it matches me up with people well above my build/skill level in terms of pvp

I did read the OP, even if it was poorly written. Among his minor issues, by the title and for all players to partake in games remark, I assume (possibly incorrectly) he's neither a tank or a healer. If I join the solo queue I am in a fight within minutes with my healer. If I join group queue with a premade we enter within minutes. It seems this is not the same for DDs?

ZOS seem to be rigid on their trinity teams thing, and there's a lot more DDs than anything else. So it's an issue only the players can resolve. Thankfully, there's an easy option available. Join a guild or roll as a healer or a tank.

Am I wrong? @coop500 may be saying so. Does it not work like dungeons? I always just have healer selected on the group finder panel and I'm in within a minute or two. Am I stupendously lucky, or am I missing something?

If I am stupendously lucky, I sure as heck wish that luck would transfer to my jester coffer rewards. Style pages have been lacking.

Oh, and as for MMR and player disco replacements, @SkaraMinoc pretty much hit the nail on the head. They're never going to put much effort into BG. Or anything else PvP related, sadly.

BG's grouping does not care what role you are - therefore bringing a tank or a healer would mean zero change. Also putting yourself in a premade group of 4 means you may actually have a harder time finding matches because the current system means you then have to wait for other pre made groups.

BG queue is far less forgiving than dungeon queue - Your role means nothing in that wasteland.

If this is the case, why would you wait 35 + minutes for a match? Surely after 5 minutes you'd duck out and re queue?

Am I taking a ridiculously hyperbolic OP too much to his word, or is there an issue I'm unaware of with BG queues?

The BG's queue has been an issue for years. It's broken in a different way the dungeon finder breaks. There is the mystical MMR system, which is theoretically supposed to place you with players near your level etc, to ensure engaging and fun play - However this has not been the case, it has been up and down for years and they wont even reveal to us HOW the MMR -actually- works. I have seen it first hand. Some days, the queues are good and fast, most days they are a slow drag, and I know for a fact people around my toons levels are getting back to back fights, because im watching them on stream, and yet mine won't pop for 2 hours sometimes. Luckily I gave up on BG's until ZOS gets it together, or is at least more transparent with the way that MMR system works. Its been a long discussed topic for years - This is why they made changes to the games allowed to play at one point as well, to help "fix" queue times since that was blamed on players for queueing for a certain game or some such nonsense, but that, in my opinion, was not the case - and to my knowledge, their findings didn't turn up much of anything to back up their claims.

There was a lot of pretty disappointing smugness at DM players when ZOS mentioned the DM only queues were low pop, but I guess it turns out no one wants to play objective matches, either.

i think all the queue mumbo jumbo they did since oct 2021 turned away a lot of people who played BGs

there are definitely the 2 groups of BG players, the much more competitive BG crowd that tends to focus more on DM, and the more casual BG crowd that likes variety in the games played who may or may not be great at pvp to begin with

Solo queues for BGs don't usually take that long, but group queues can certainly take forever outside of "primetime". I would say get rid of MMR altogether. It doesn't work in most games and it certainly isn't working as intended for this one. If a useless MMR is the thing causing longer queue times, then just get rid of it. The only true separation of skill level and competitiveness would be an actual ranking system. However. with performance, and balance the way it is, the game is in a tough spot in actually becoming competitive.
