In the meantime, if you've gotten stuck in the infinite repair loop, as I did after following the "what to do" thread, a full reinstall of the game was the only thing that fixed that for me.
Um, complete reinstall didn't help me...it seems pretty random as to when I can click the Play button fast enough before it flags the repair button. Still a [snip] all around and very disappointing as was barely able to play at all. This event needs to be extended by at least a week.

Cute. I didn't realize that there was a profanity bypass/that asterisks were naughty. Now that we have that ultra crucial bit of tech work out of the way, can someone from ZOS actually talk about a fix?

I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps for this and even did a complete uninstall and re install, and I am still getting the launcher issue. It's clear this is not an user side issue. I've done everything I can think of.
I'd really like to be able to play the game but this bug is super frustrating. I missing out on in game events and even log in rewards. I really hope this issue if fixed soon.
Since there doesn't seem to be an official acknowledgement there's a server/game-side issue, I'm re-downloading the game to see if that works. Nothing else, no other workaround offered, has had any effect whatsoever.
Offering triple rewards for the week's endeavors does NO GOOD when the player can't even log into the game.
For anyone still having issues with the ESO launcher, please open a ticket with customer support if you've not done so yet. If you already have a ticket started and need an update, feel free to post your ticket number in this thread.
