Glad to report that Update 33 did have a noticeable performance improvement for me as a PS5 player! :)

I’m referring to loading screens in general but especially loading the character select screen, logging into characters, and logging out of characters. In fact logging out of characters legit only takes a few seconds now before I am back to the character select screen. I also did not get any errors/permanent load screens etc that used to happen when swapping characters too fast. I also did not have fps drops in vSS or vAS I ran recently.

Not saying things are perfect by any means but this patch seems to have been an overall positive step in terms of performance improvements.

PC NA we had this only for a week. Not it's longer load screens, poor latency, no group finder

    Way to crush my dreams

It was working after the patch. I am not sure if that was just cause I was one of first people to login though

Yes they do need to slow down or stop development on new content, updates from PTS are being rushed through without bug fixes just to keep up with their time table. This is hurting the game.

The servers are killing the game. I think the majority of gamers can handle bugs on new content, virtually every game has this problem.. but what they cant handle is servers that have been running like poo for 4+ years now.

The only reason it's getting attention now is because it's hitting PvE - when it was just PVP that was trash no one cared.

I hope they are hiring additional engineers and artists, and invest more money in the game, instead of blaming and replacing people.

A lot of "lead" positions listed. As I discussed with friends; knowing the mess the game is in, I wouldn't want to take a job there. To try to be one responsible for fixing while they stick to this quarterly timeline push? No thanks. I am positive the performance started going downhill when they started that hard set timeline.

I have to remind myself that I don't fault the actual coders and engineers so much, even though I can't seem to resist a snarky comment from time to time. They probably are pressed to leave behind fixes and push the next release forward.

The year of performance was the beginning of the end, its only gotten worse since! They've also taken away features such as 24 person groups in the name of performance when their removal had no positive impact on performance whatsoever.

I couldn't agree with this more. Their performance "fixes" were to take away components of the game - that isn't a fix... that's just reducing server load by limiting who can play.

The biggest reason why I cancelled my eso + account, maybe if it hits their pocket they'll finally get around to fixing serious issues instead of adding more content. I wonder how they sat around at the developer meeting and kicked around ideas like "fix the server? Nah, let's introduce a card game!"

I also cancelled my ESO+ when they kept radio silence after the Q&A regarding achievements, and though it's a pain to play without the perks, they disregarded feedback upon feedback, so the last resort is to vote with my wallet so to speak... and this is the cherry on top of other things, like their lack of communication, their increasingly awful monetization, and the systematic chipping away at combat as an excuse for performance... it's a beautiful game but the way it's managed is horrific.

Agreed! The only way to get them to even try to fix bugs or improve performance is to speak with our wallets. We as a community need to cancel our subs and stop buying crates and houses.

We shouldnt be paying when bugs that have been reported over 2 years ago still havent been fixed and there is still no ongoing bug list to see if they even read our bug reports.

The last item you mentioned is something I've been begging @ZOS_GinaBruno and others to implement - transparency. Just be open and honest (when you can.. obviously there are some unreleased things you can't mention). Make post on the forums about known PVP bugs. Having to go to their twitch and ask if they know about dsyncs and such in chat.. to then get a response "well yeah of course we know about it... we obviously play the game" isn't the best form of communication IMO.

I feel like people are barking up the wrong tree. Have you guys seen Mythic Quest? I understand the inner workings of video game companies a lot better now :D It's a shame i can not find any other clips about Sue and her job as a community manager to share, but i can quote a description about her character, so you might get a picture:

"Due to the stressful nature of her job, Sue's office is located in the basement, far away from the rest of the studio. Her key card only allows her access to the basement office, though she does offhandedly express that she would like to be able to go visit the main office so that she can interact with her coworkers and see daylight. The abuse she suffers at the hands of MQ's players, combined with her isolation, would logically set her up to be a very depressed person. However, she is actually very kind, mild-mannered, and cheerful, which David describes as "much worse." It is implied that she carries a lot of repressed anger and has adopted this aggressively positive persona as a sort of coping mechanism for the awful treatment she receives..."

Is this how they fix the server in game performance? Don't let anyone in if the server gets to busy.

    Noooo....

Don't let anyone in... Until you get enough to Make it packed with toons.
