Is it possible to do all the secrets without a full party? The most recent previous DLC dungeons required 4 people to activate doodads together.

Only the last secret boss you can't activate it solo, the rest, yes, you can.

Hmm, good to know. How many people do you need to activate that last boss?

I was able to activate all 4 secret bosses in CA solo.

Honestly the only big bad thing I have is VSR HM first boss feels more difficult than the other two on HM. Last boss actually feels the easiest.

    Other than that really good.

You were never going to get interesting lore in a dungeon dlc sadly. ESO isn’t set up to tell stories in them at all.
Scalecaller Peak and Fang Lair had really good connected stories and amazing lore. In Fang Lair even the mobs have banter if you listen from a distance without attacking. It was pretty amusing.

Yes. In both dungeons everything can be soloed on normal.

Coral Aerie final secret boss has 4 player pads at the entrance. But 1 player standing on a single pad is enough to unlock it.

I actually thought this as well but just step on the plate and it activates the boss for you :)

Is uncanny how two people can experience the exact same thing and come away feeling wildly differently about it.

I found the story in Shipwright's Regret quite charming - but again I found the characters charming previously so rather biased there - and the mechanics caught us off-guard a few times. I'm a mediocre player, fortunately my party members are more skilled, but the HMs still weren't a walk in the park for us.

The story in Coral Aerie was not as remarkable for me but it wasn't terrible or anything, and the mechanics on the first boss I found rather entertaining.

Haven't managed all the HMs there yet though.

In both cases I didn't mind the reused assets, in fact I would expect existing assets to be reused creatively whenever possible, and in this regard seems to me like they succeeded.
I loved the mechanic of whirlpool in Coral Aeries, and the graphics in Shipwright Regrets. SR gave me a vibe of Far Harbor in Fallout 4.

Not the best, but combat was interesting and mildly challenging

Visually it was smooth and immersive

    I give the dungeons 8/10

Wait! So... the new dungeons are actually soloable?!? That's awesome! Usually they come out with a new dungeon and make them so hard initially, that you cannot solo them... then nerf them a few months later. I've always been frustrated at this because, as a solo player, I feel like I'm missing some of the story since I don't enjoy grouping.

C'mon, they are really cool dungeons.
Some nice mechanics + Summerset and Zaji nostalgia. I also like the fact that they keep the "secret bosses thing" going.

Also - what felt very fresh was the ship sailing away at the end.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I dont remember anything like this in ESO, when some part of map/enviroment moves.

I thought they were both pretty fun, and in the case of Shipwright it looked like they actually spent a lot of time on making it an aesthetically spooky dungeon (which I really liked).
The toilet spider boss was a lot of fun... we enjoyed floating around the room.

Here's my (completely opposite) take that I wrote shortly after the DLC dropped:
    Amazing, absolutely loved them.

The stories were well written, made sense, and were compelling. I loved the little bits of wry humour! The dialogue for NPCs (bosses) was well-written and original. I love the little nods in both dungeons to things going on the world around, like Baron Dorell's note or The Heritance.

The mechanics were all fun and interesting.

I really feel like apart from the story in the quest we take on, the locations have their own separate stories which I really appreciate because it makes them really fun to explore. Riven's location story was fun and atmospheric, but Aerie was just freaking *cool.*

Both of them were visually appealing and set a specific mood (especially Rivenyard).

The pacing is also great. They can be taken as bite-size content and finished fast, but there's secrets to explore if you have the time and patience to go a bit further. I haven't had a chance to have a crack at the hard modes yet, but the addition of optional HMs for every boss has been great.

If I had to put a criticism, I found that the exposition for the Aerie was confusing because it starts with a disorienting info dump, and I think this can cause disengagement. But I imagine there is a tight budget of spoken-line dialogue (and gamer attention span), so I think there's reasons for it. FWIW, I didn't find this so much in Rivenyard dungeon story at all. And its a shame that the dungeons have to be these weird cave-openings that teleport you. It would be cool if they could be more incorporated into the world. But these are really little quibbles.

It was amazing work, yet again. I personally feel that the dungeoncrafting is something that is consistently hitting it out of the park and needs to be recognised. Thank you, dungeon team!

As someone said above, its amazing how different perceptions can be!

I guess it comes down to expectations.

Oh! And as to lore, ya gotta pay attention to the little things. That's why I love the world(level?) builders. Anyone else notice the ruined nedic-style furniture in CA? This suggests contact between Nedes and Aldmer. Given that Direnni territory on Summerset (and the trajectory of their migrations) seems to be towards the North East, it seems like these are meant to have been Direnni ruins. I personally get a kick out of exploring that sort of thing, and appreciate the effort immensely.

I really enjoy the 3 boss dungeon setup with 2-3 optional bosses. It allows faster dungeon progress with PUG normal randoms we do for transmutes while allowing organized groups the ability to get the most out of a dungeon. We don't need more LoMs where the vast amount of people bail because they don't have an hour to run a dungeon.

I do not think the dungeons are boring, in fact I think they are interesting.

I wish I could say the same about the mechanics of the dungeon. The recent dungeons ZoS releases have been awful in terms of veteran mechanics to "hard mode." All the fights have consisted of throwing random moving AoEs in the ground instead of any impactful mechanics to follow. They hit the goldmine of veteran to hardmode balance with Blackdrake Villa and dare I say, Unhallowed Grave but Shipwright's Regret and Coral Aerie's hard modes are not really hard but just annoying. They are both AoE city.

Didn't bother....buying 2 dungeons that may last 20 minutes a pop isn't real "content" to me. I get ZOS selling gear (thus pay to win if the sets are viable and don't get nerfed to death).

We asked for new contents to make breton lore interesting... not new contents as boring as the breton in ESO

I basically abandoned ESO for quite some months, then decided to get back and have a look...I really shouldn't have

Reused assets, boring quest and same old humanoid bosses with no interesting mechnic, the year of breton is looking pretty rough right now

    Really? Have you tried HM?
