I don't mind the inane comments - I can ignore those. But for crying out loud can she keep the hell out of the way when I'm trying to jump and interact with something.
I want Miri levelled but she is absolutely driving me insane being in the way all the time.
ZoS, please put interact with Companions on the menu, not as x (controller).

Where is that magic place where you set how talky they are?

Every time I hear that line when she snaps about why I can't use anything else for my alchemy I want to snap back that no, alchemy doesn't work that way. Same as I can't replace a mountain flower with a nightshade just because it's a flower, I can't just mix one type of insect with another for the same result.

The rapport system dramatically aides them feeling their own people IMO.
I think it's too grindy but I wouldn't want it gone entirely. A traveling companion should have their own likes and dislikes, feelings towards you, and interests imo.

Things like getting the houseguest shouldn't be dependent on it. It just reminds me too much of WoW's horrible tedious reputation grinds that you had to have maxed out in many different areas to experience some of the content, like flying for example. I see this as the start of that direction in this game.

They aren't saying "Sithis!" They are saying "Cities!" LOL!
They say it when you enter the big cities.
