Why is it impossible for me to get past the char log in screen?

For 2 days straight now it's been almost impossible to log into my char. Yesterday it took me over an hour to do so. I've done everything on my end to fix this from restarted ESO completely to restarting my comp and disabling addons, but nothing has worked.

I'm really getting tired of ESO not responding while it's loading then pushing me back to the log in screen with the msg "An error has occurred please try logging in again in a few mins." I'm not sure how this game gets more and more difficult to play the longer its been out.

I realise this is likely frustrating as all hell - so please don't think that I'm undermining your completely legitimate issue here.

However - more information is required, by ZOS, or anyone else inclined to help you sort this out.

1) Have you opened a ticket with Customer Service? If so - what are the ticket numbers.

2) Tag some of the reps here when you post said numbers. This will allow the official support on these forums to investigate and elevate your issue as needed - and will result in a much quicker turn around (realistically think about how much "crap" gets posted on these forums every 10 minutes - help them help you).

3) Run and post your logs as needed (this can include everything from the ESO crash report logs, to a dxdiag, to your basic computer specs) - while you are not ALONE in this issue - you are also not unanimous in it. Which requires that the tech support gather enough information from the inflicted to find the common threads.

4) Be as over-detailed as possible. When doing tech support there really is no such thing as TMI. The CS reps can NOT see your screen - they do not have secret cameras hidden in your office and they are effectively "working blind" trying to recreate your problem, in order to figure out how you got down the rabbit hole in the first place, in order to help you dig your way out. Which is why a lot of tech support jokes involve "did you plug it in, did you turn it on" - it's not a commentary on your intelligence, it's an attempt to get from Point A to Point "off the map" in order to join you.

3 hours later still can't log on, LOL!!

No, I haven't opened any tickets and I have no clue what you mean by tagging some reps. =/

I'm not sure what you mean by posting logs, my game isn't crashing it just throws me back to the account login page. I either get kicked back to my account log in page, log back into my char preview page and attempt to log in with said char and that'll happen over and over again, or I'll just get stuck on loading screen after you select what char you choose to log in with.

Either way it's really a pain, but I just now (as I was typing) finally got logged in after 4 hours of attempts and a lot of advil. This game infuriates me to no end.

Re you running ESOhead addon? If so, disable it. That worked for me. Good luck.
