Hello, I'm not sure if this has been asked but I had started a new character and am at the god of schemes quest part where I have to choose a companion to die. I have always chose varen but am wondering what would happen if I choose lyris or sai in relation to the quests each of them have for dragonguard and harrowstorm quest lines? thanks

if you did sacrifice them it usually gives you extra dialogs with them in the other storylines since your character is genuinely shocked at their return, and they respond similarly

you cant sacrifice tharn, but you can sacrifice sai which does add some additional dialogs with him in eslweyr story

i think lyris is the same way with the skyrim story

you dont run into the prophet after the main story (yet), so theres no special dialogs for that

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

Aside from some minor consequence in the Mages Guild completion, not a single quest I've come across has any actual tangible effect in the world.
(Eventual Shivering Isle DLC might prove me wrong...?)

There will be dialogue changes and the occasional missing character at ceremonies, etc. But that's about it.

It doesn't really shape the world as much as they'd have you believe.
Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

    Earn it.

IRL'ing for a while for assorted reasons, in forum, and in game.
I am neither warm, nor fuzzy...

    Actually,
You run into the Prophet at the very end of the Orsinium questline as a ghost and he hints at the future chapters as Morrowind hadn't come it yet.

I chose Varen my first play thru, then after that always Sai, really dislike Sai with a passion!
Eventho he ran out of prophecies, I still have some glimmer of hope that someday we see Varen again/or his ghost in a side quest

He's one of the possible ghosts in the Imperial Old Life daily quest.
