Strange but I'll take it.

I really really wish they'd produce a game events calendar. I know this means they can't easily just plonk events on us - like this I guess - but it would be a polite acknowledgement that some of us like/need to organise our gaming time.

Im at work and a friend send me a picture of the pop up telling me i forgot to tell him about it(im usualy the one who post new and patch note on our guild facebook group for all to know)
Came here and on the web site but no news

Explorer's event is usually a spur of a moment thing or very limited in lead up. They will usually announce the start of the major holiday events well enough in advance, usually at least a week. I expect we see a Jester's fest announcement next week.

Yes but it was posted less than two hours ago. 'Kicking off today...' I don't think I was being very unobservant.

The event comes across as more of a distraction / compensation without admitting anything about the issues spawned from the latest update. I would assume that the announcement was a copy/paste from the previous one and wasn't vetted to remove that particular line which reflects one of the major concerns of the AWA changes to many players. Hasty or tone deaf?

Considering the recent complaints about log in issues, lags, zone loading times and more, it seems odd to host an event that is usually expected to increase player populations.

But whatever, we all love double loots and xp , makes everything right?

It's no different than the 3 (4?) other times this event has been run. Double nodes, double XP, double gold drops. It's a fairly simple event. Great for XP and resource farming.

Yeah, but I was more expecting the Jester's Festival this week, as the anniversary event is usually in the first week of April. Jester's Festival is usually two weeks long. So I assumed they were going to do it this week and then anniversary event on the 31st. But it looks like we are getting three back to back events. Which Im not complaining about lol So I guess Anniversary event on the 7th then?

Jester's has been 1 week the last 2 years. It was also back to back with Jubilee the last two years and only 2 days between them in 2019.
It's still possible Jester's starts on the 31st, runs one week and Jubilee starts on the 7th as well.

Small thing but it seems to me that having Jester's to coincide with RL April Fool's day makes some kind of sense.

Ah! My bad! I missed the last two jesters festival events so was just thinking it was two weeks based on other events! Weird only one week for a once a year event with achievements attached to it too?

To put it simply the Explorer's Event is always random and spur of the moment. They are never scheduled. But they also have a tendency to pop up after they feel that they have lost some community goodwill.
