My wish: Heavy attack restoring your dominant stat

With all the work going on to support hybrid builds - the one thing I would love to see is if we could have any heavy attack restore your largest stat pool. E.g. if I have a magicka build but am running daggers, let my dagger heavy attack give me magic back instead of stamina. Alternatively - I have been playing with back-barring a staff on some of my stamina builds with the recent scaling changes - but I really want my heavy attacks to give back stamina.

How would you restore your off stat? With the current system you have a choice of which stat you restore by equipping different weapons.

That would be pretty bad for some builds, easier to just swap bars.

That'd hurt my tank build. No thankyou.

If you are a stam build in U33 you'll sensibly be able to back bar an ice staff to get magicka regen, damage shields, magicka blocking, lay down exploding wall, or for that matter backbar restro like in PvP.. Mag builds already run dual wield daggers so have that option. I am looking forward to seeing how four man groups with 3 stamplars backbarring restro are going to run. They ought to be able to indestructible and can still jab off the restro bar.

So I think they've actually now given you the flexibility with the need to manage it with skill, which is probably a better option anyway.

Having a melee option to restore magicka would be great. In PvE it's whatever, but PvP? Defensive Posture can completely negate a staff user due to the skill's deflect. Makes killing tanks a hastle.

Perhaps they should add an extra weapon 'glyph' slot, and this slot would be used to slot a glyph that determines weapon resource return. This way you could add a magicka glyph to a sword and make it a magicka resource return weapon... or add a stamina glyph to a staff to make it a stamina resource return weapon.

Just have heavy attacks restore both stats, and the amount restored be a % of your max for each. The more max stam you have, the more stam a heavy attack restores. That way you still have a good reason to consider boosting one resource more than the other, since it means faster heavy attack regen.

i would love Bound Weapons as a skill line with a S&B that you could recharge magicka on heavy. and every time you did a heavy, it should renew the weapon binding.

This would mess up tanking for me since I don't use DK.

When my mag is low I heavy with ice-staff and when stam is low I heavy with S&B.

DK can convert mag to stam so having more mag than stam would be no problem for them.

Heavy attack is one of the clunkiest game mechanics in ESO. In my case, I don't like doing heavy attacks, they aren't fun. Perhaps if the animations would include some special moves or effects. It is one the mechanics I wish to see changed in the future. It is also counter intuitive for a new player. Why an attack that would take a lot of effort from your part, would restore more resources than you put in it? New players are confused by that. I know players who were playing for months and did not know that heavy attacks restore resources.
