For those who very much despise PVP but still want the event tickets each day, there are ways to obtain them with almost no actual PVP.

For the Imperial City, pick up the daily Arena quest and simply kill enemies from your faction's platform without having to jump down. There should be at least two Daedra you can kill from the platform with a ranged weapon or spell. Sure, you will need to wait for them to respawn but you can complete the quest in 15-20 minutes, maybe sooner if there is enough traffic to speed up the mob respawns.

For Cyrodiil, your best bets are either the Scouting Mission quest or the Fighters Guild bounty quests. For the Scouting Missions, use the transitus shrine to port to the closest location and then hop on your mount and ride to the specified objective. Crouch, let your character finish the quest and then either ride back or sacrifice yourself to some guards or mobs. You can use a keep recall stone as well if you prefer. For the Fighters Guild bounty quests, there are four different ones. Just pick up one, ride to a location where the bounty targets are known to spawn, kill 10 of them and then return to the tavern to collect your bounty. Each faction has a spawn point for each mob type that is not far from a home keep or outpost and most of these locations are not in heavily traveled areas of the map. Of course, if your faction has transitus access to Bruma, Cropsford or Vlastarus, you can knock out one of the town quests pretty quickly instead.

More great options for those that want to avoid PvP.

With the idea I posted earlier I did not see any PvP and that was during a mayhem event that occurred right after I started playing last year.

And to make the scouting missions even more easier:

Pick up the scouting quest in a campaign where your faction owns the least amount of keeps, usually the target for the scouting quest wouldn't be that far away.
Enter a campaign where your faction dominates, with some luck you can port directly to your target.
    Profit.

I don't know about other factions, but if you have a EP character, then you can do IC daily quest in Arena District without settings a foot in IC... well, technically that is...

    https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:The_Lifeblood_of_an_Empire

Quest requires you to kill some Daedra that guard some NPCs. Every time you kill the guard, Imperial Citizens escape & it progress the quest. As long as you have ranged attack, you can do this quests without jumping down from the tower, as npcs spawn close by to the tower. The Imperial citizens & Daedra guards respawn, so you basically need to wait a bit, but it is for the most part 10 - 30 min per character, maybe even faster during IC event. Just stay in stealth & attack when stuff respawns - then repeat.

You need to be careful though as there is always a risk that some pesky ganker will somehow try to shoot you (it is minimal though & I never had that happen).

I did this quests on all my characters and now I basically don't need to do the "IC" part of the event.

Like I have said - I have no idea if only EP characters can do this quest in a "risk free" way (I only have EP characters), but I guess that probably not.

Okay OP, could you suggest a PvP alternative to every other event during the year so us PvP:ers don't have to do all that PvE stuff? Since unless we get PvP options for PvE events, it's unfair that you get a PvE option for the only PvP event of the year.

Ironically, the fastest way to obtain tickets in MM is to avoid PvP combat since NB sneaking IC quest and do a scout quest is the fastest option for the tickets....

Incredible how so many people show up to complain about the one pvp event in the year; while they have mountains and mountains of pve events. You ever thought about how many people dislike having to do pve? Come on man, its one event. One. Chill.

One pvp event in the year? Last year it was three pvp events.

Midyear Mayhem: Thursday, January 28 to Tuesday, February 9

Year One Celebration: Thursday, August 26 to Tuesday, September 7 (two event tickets per day, one had to be earned by doing Imperial City Daily)

Midyear Mayhem: Thursday June 24 to Tuesday July 6

And this year, I expect at least two pvp events (probably another Mayhem event this July). And it would not surprise me if ZOS made Imperial City part of a third event this year, just like they did last year.

And? PvPers get only a fraction of what PvErs get, calm down budd x)

No problem. I just get irritated when people say there is only one PvP event per year. When last year there were three events out of eleven events that required PvP to get all the tickets.

I am not into PvP, but I think ZOS should be fair and have the events be proportional to what the players are spending time on in game. And I think that only ZOS has those numbers - how many people play every month, and what are they doing when they are online. Three out of eleven events for PvP might be fair based on the player numbers, but I don't know the numbers.

As a purely-PvE player, I take the already available, completely "fair" alternative: I skip this event.

It's just some tickets, no big deal.

This is going to be a losing battle on your part.

Assuming you have time do every other event this year, then from personal experience I can tell you that last year, I straight up skipped every PVP related event, and still had more than enough tickets to get everything.

So you can always just, ya know, not do mayhem. I know I won't.

Sure. As long as we get a pvp alternative way to get tickets in every other event. Sounds great.

For the PVE events just pretend that every NPC is a PVE-player in cyrodiil, both need the same skill to kill ;-)
Don't you just like the PVP events for the easy kills of PVE-players doing the event quests ?

False. I like pvp events for ap and extra rewards. I would prefer there were no event tickets linked to it so there wasn't an influx of pve players and I could bathe in 2x ap and low pop in one of the dead campaigns. :)

I play both PvP and PvE and I agree, it would be better if there were no tickets given out in Cryodiil for this event. What happens in this event is there is one or two campaigns pop-locked with mostly PvE players sitting around in keeps, not wanting to be there. The other 2 or 3 campaigns are dead. Maintaining faction unity on one reasonably active server is hard enough.

Wish I could do some sort of PVP for the rest of the events but I can't =p

PvPers only get midyear mayhem (I refuse to call it whitesnakes mayhem or whatever... it's dumb)

Literally every other event is extremely boring for us who don't enjoy pve...

There are many types of players in this game, some that are casual, some that only log in to raid, some that mostly pvp, etc....

Honestly, if you want the game to be more fair.... then we should have 1/2 the events require pvp :P jk... that's would be dumb...

but I'm just trying to point out that you should be grateful to be a PVE player.... because the game is amazing for you... While us PvP players barely get any attention at all... and the Balancing that ZoS does revolves around PVE so PVP players just have to accept that their game mode ends up with crazy unbalanced power metas that break the game... We just get brushed to the side while players like you are the ones that they focus on...

If Midyear Mayhem is your biggest complaint I envy you... meanwhile I'm waiting 3 seconds for my ability to go off because the servers are lagging while I get Necro Bomb dmg even though I'm 10 feet out of the circle.

Just make sure you are in a fairly hidden spot when writing your report. Standing out in the open next to a keep or resource is just asking for trouble and you will probably end up as collateral damage. There are plenty of spots to write reports from that probably no one will notice you though.

So look, this event is pretty unpopular with PvErs for obvious reasons. The power and skill gap between people who actually PvP and people who just want their damn tickets is immense, which essentially results in frustration for the PvErs forced into these zones that are designed against the way they play the game.

Since I imagine a PvE phase for IC and Cyrodiil is off the table (Why), why not make Whitestrake's Mayhem a celebration of Cyrodiil? Let Gold Coast dailies give 1 ticket that's mutually exclusive with the Battlegrounds/Cyrodiil dailies. And then let Blackwood dailies give 2 tickets that're mutually exclusive with the Imperial City dailies, It's a win/win. PvPers still get to do their thing and PvErs have the option to not have a frustrating daily routine in ESO!

And maybe it'll cause less performance issues in Cyrodiil to boot.

    Please

You don't understand the event. It's not for people to 'PvE' or goto Imperial City and stand around the starter zones waiting for a guild to carry them, geez.

Its earned by this feeling of raw fury and tension that flows thru your veins as you fight with your bare hands to accomplish every achievement and get the credit for every kill, every bit of Ap. Think of it like Doom Slayer when he was thrown into that arena.

And the point is that there are many good suggestions in here for the OP and others to avoid PvP while getting their tickets.

I once had a scouting mission for Drakelowe Keep, which is about as far from the Daggerfall Covenant base as you can get. After taking the Transitus Network to the closest DC-controlled keep and riding the rest of the way there, I snuck up to a rock column so I could write my report. Unfortunately, an EP player saw me and came running up to me. I stayed hunkered down for several seconds while they loomed over me, repeatedly buffing themself up but not attacking. So I decided to go ahead and stand up, and wrote my report while they kept a close eye on me. Then they let me hop on my mount and ride away. It made my night! :)

Some of my best and most memorable moments in this game have been in Cyrodiil and the Imperial City:

    - While killing Black Daggers in Hackdirt, I ran into an enemy player who was also there to kill Black Daggers. I left them alone, they left me alone, and we sort if split up the town between us. Actually, I think when I fiirst ran into them, I helped them kill the Black Dagger they were fighting, then ran off and left them alone.

    - While at Narsinfel to kill Captain Minwe, I ran into an enemy player who was also there to kill Minwe. I don't know whether they were already there or arrived just as I did, but I have this move I like to do where I ride my mount up the backside of the hill, jump my mount over the stone wall onto the top of Narsinfel, then jump my mount over the ledge into the center of the area where Minwe is, dismounting in midair so I can immediately start to attack Minwe. As soon as I started attacking, I saw this other player and we left each other alone. They crept up to Minwe during my fight so they could get a tap in, and after I finished off Minwe and mounted up to ride away they looted the corpse.

    - While I was doing either the Great Forest Dolmen or the Greenmead Dolmen, an enemy player came running up. When they saw that I was an enemy player, they retreated and let me continue. I didn't see them for a while, but I think they were fighting Daedra on the opposite side of the dolmen, or else they just hit a pinion or two. After I killed the final boss, they came back around and I think I backed away to let them hit the final pinion, to be sure they could loot the chest.

    - While in the Temple District of the Imperial City, I was trying to take my Grievous Claws and Bottle of Ritual Wine to the ritual brazier when I ran into a group of four or five AD players. I threw up my block and stood there while they fired at me with their staves, then after several seconds they stopped. We all stood there for a few moments, not attacking each other, then they let me run off to the ritual brazier to continue the quest.

There have been many other friendly enemy encounters, but those are a few of the ones that come to mind.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

It's true that some pvpers will turn to griefing during this event, whether in IC or at Cyrodiil town quest hubs, but most legitimate pvpers are more interested in the combat we do already participate in regularly being amped up by the event -- taking and defending keeps and outposts, the movement of scrolls, and so on. Three of the cities have some (relatively low) strategic importance as far as movement goes but others like Cheydinhal and Chorrol are not marked and typically have less traffic.

If you find yourself in trouble in a town, ask in zone chat for help. I'd like to think more pvpers are willing to help protect those in their own faction rather than grief players in other factions, especially if things are slow or they want a change of pace. Actually it's possible people in your faction already have an axe to grind with the person killing you at a quest turn in and would be more than happy for a chance to thwart their actions. Some will even wander around and protect the towns as quasi-RP during the event.

As has been said, most actual PVPers won’t hang about in the towns ganking, unless they want to make hardly any AP and very slowly. A squishy PVEer who has already died a bunch of times provides very very little AP, whereas defending a keep, or taking one in a low pop campaign during MYM provides loads. You won’t even get defence ticks in cheydinal, chorrol etc.

You can run into pretty foul people in PUG dungeon groups, and great ones too. MYM in Cyro is no different.

It’s very easy to get tickets and brush off the actual pvp, there are loads of great tips for doing so in this thread.

There’s also a lot of great stuff that happens in MYM and it can be super healthy for the PVP community. Our (pve) guild usually brings in a bunch of newer players, lower level who haven’t ventured in before, and many end up having a great time and staying. You’ll also see people joining in with emp pushes for people they don’t know, and others getting emp and then standing aside to give others a shot. There is plenty of positive behaviour too, if you are willing to see it.

I am terrible at PvP, because I simply suck at it, but I still try and have fun during the event. I thank those for the advice in this thread.

Other than a pvper coming after you, you don't really need to pvp in this event. You can do the quest dailies in a town and in IC and get your tickets. Sure, someone will jump you sometimes, but just die and respawn and head back out to finish the quest.

I pvp plenty, but I have also not felt like doing it at all when the events have occurred sometimes and do this with characters not set up to pvp just to hammer out the tickets real quick. If you get jumped, you get jumped, no biggie. Occasionally it can get annoying if a whole enemy group is trying to lock down a town or spawn, but if it's that bad, just queue to another campaign and finish it there.

I get that its inconvenient, but it's not much more than that. Too many players really try to make this into a bigger deal than it is every time there is an event.

To be quite honest. I feel that this event needs to change.

This is supposed to be a PVP event right? so why isn't it a PVP event?

I mean to get event ticket it should be something like "Hey go take a resource" or go "capture a keep" or win a duel or go kill x players

put the event tickets in rewards for the worthy or something.

Don't make the event a PVE in PVP land thing. its misleading and promotes quest turn in camping and anger all around. that is the key mistake with this event.

To be fair, you get to choose what type of daily quests you want to do for the Mayhem tickets. In both Cyro and IC there are daily boards that ask to kill X players or capture specific points. Any of them can give you the tickets.
There are plenty of PvE options as well, so overall it can cater for both PvE and PvP players. If they made it strictly PvP-only tickets, there would be even more people complaining than what we have now.

I love this event as it is. Both PvE and PvP players can get their tickets, PvP players get double XP for PvP kills, and hopefully some PvE players might find that Cyrodiil and Imperial City can be fun.

    Please

To spin this round a bit, why are there only 2 PvP events a year but about a dozen pve ones? I would like to see *every* event made into a joint event. Every time there's a pve event, run Whitestrake's Mayhem alongside it for the full duration.

If it keeps the queue down even just a little for actual PvP players, and keeps PvE players out of queue that don't/won't PvP in PvP zones, I hope ZOS just adds this "pvp" card game in future Whitestrake's events.
