Race changes imminent

So with the hybridisation I'm thinking a race change from Breton to either High Elf or Dark Elf might be the way to go. Pve and Pvp Magplar discussion.
Thoughts?

I completely agree (which is ironic that they are essentially killing off Bretons before the chapter focusing on Bretons), and I think Dark Elf will be the way to go for many characters. They get the same W/S damage as High Elf, but the extra bit of stamina will help to cast more stam abilities and keep survivability up by being able to dodge roll and block (and you only lose 90 magic compared to High Elf).

All my magplars (3, one for each faction) are Bretons, but High Elf and Dark Elf are probably better overall, I agree. I think it also depends on how you like to build and play your characters -- myself, I prefer a little bit more magicka sustain particularly if I'm filling a healer role in both pvp and pve. I can also choose to make up for the difference in spell damage via glyphs or mundus choice, but the stamina sustain that High Elves give would be nice to have.

Question is, 212 stam regen or 2k stam, what will be more if a benift.
I reckon a magplar has to be using power of the light next update and get that minor breech as well,

Vigor with sword n board builds might well become viable as well

high elf is very strong for mag now that their previously unappreciated passive Spell Recharge will help sustain their off resource

"When you activate an ability, you restore 625 Magicka or Stamina, based on whichever is lowest. This effect can occur once every 6 seconds."

It's way past time to decouple character model/skin from stats. If someone wants their Argonian to be able to run a BIS damage setup, they should be able to select the racial stat passives that would enable that, like mundus stones.

Maybe we'll get a long-overdue Breton buff during the year of the Bretons. I still have a few collecting dust at the bottom of my character list.

@ZOS_GinaBruno any chance of an update on whether or not racial passivs are changing before players like my self spend money on race changing away from breton. Would be much appreciated by everyone.

If you think Mag sustain doesn't matter as much on your build add an extra piece of medium armor, more damage and more stam sustain and done. Run plus Magicka food with Stamina sustain bonus. Unless you are in a top score pushing Trial guild it won't matter enough unless you really just want to switch. You definately don't HAVE to switch to make it work for all Vet content just fine.

Would love decoupling of racial passives. Just give me khajiit passives for my argonian. So ridiculously stacked on their racials it’s not even fair :/ I’m sure they can jimmy the lore somehow for us to be able to do this, don’t wanna upset the RPers too much.

When hybrid races does better job than one-dimensional races , something really went wrong, like dunmer is solid choice for stamdd and magdd , good healer and not the worst tank. Altmers are better warriors/stamdd's than nords or redguards(which are supposed to be warrior races with natural affinity to combat) also great healers.
Redguard one-dimensional race what supposed to be stamdd is not good at it , Nords what are one-dimensional race are tanks and they are not the best at it and they are neither dps.Not gonna even start about poor Argonians they have same problem as Nords , they are one-dimensional tank race here and they are not best at it.Imperials are best arguably tanks and they can fullill more roles pretty succesful do their sustain passive and balanced stats bonuses.

Honestly you don’t need more than 85-90K to complete the hardest content in the game outside of Xalvakas Scourge. Even now I am seeing some teams asking for 110-115 for that particular prog but I am skeptical that it takes that much DPS. Welcome to the big deeps meta where none of the mechanics matter I guess.

Next patch they’re will be asking 120+ and in a year probably 140+. Why they made this particular hard mode so punishing is beyond me and I don’t think “moAr d33ps” because bigger HP pools is the way to go for future trials. Something to give or we will see trial bosses with 400mil HP sooner than we think.

All templars regardless of being "stam" or "mag" will end up stacking spell dmg next patch, so potl won't be viable. purifying light for everyone

Depends on how the builds shake out. Mag vs stam thinking is out dated. You mix of skills determines primary stat and secondary stat allocation.

It could be as simple as everyone stacks weapon damage, stamina and uses their tiny mag pool to keep bahsei up.

damage race - altmer because of secondary stat sustain
    Sustain race - Imperial
    Dark Horse race - Khajiit

I really hope so. My original main, may he RIP, was a Breton. Maybe I can rebuild him if they do a Breton overhaul.

dunmer has been op for a while, but tbh all races on eso are alright in stats, id buff breton and redguard a bit, maybe also nord and argonian.

mostly people ask for bigger numbers like this because the dummy meta is so refined that certain sets and setups can meet those requirements much easier. a lot of the time it's not a build people will take into a trial, but it works great on a non moving, no mechanic dummy

For competitive play, having the biggest numbers matters, your favorite fantasy race does not. And so, we'll continue to hear things along the lines of "High Elves only, no lizards allowed in the DPS club."

Seriously, decouple stats from character model/skin. Sell each race's stat passive package in the Crown Store, 3500 Crowns for "Blessing of the High Elves" to trade your default racial stat passives for the new ones. "Congratulations, your character has completed their study and training with Altmer masters of sword and sorcery, enjoy your new power."
